Was that pundit Erick Erickson by any chance? This seems to be a popular meme at RedState...

She? It wasn't Ann Coulter, was it?

Big mouth. Could have been her.

Rubio is a fake Hispanic to many and Cain is an uncle Tom. Playing the racial card will backfire on Republicans.

Mexican and other Central American Hispanics do not especially like Cubans.

There is a huge flaw in this type of thinking. It's the often failed strategy of attempting to run a "similar" candidate against an incumbent, whether is it based on gender, ethnicity, race or even similar positions. The fact is that Democrats and those on the left will not cross party lines because of a superficial, pandering similarity to their current politician. For instance, given the choice between two women, they will still choose their woman! How is this not clear? You have to convince swing voters, and they want things like charisma, character and positions, they don't care about superficial similarities.

Rubio is a fake Hispanic ...

Rubio is a hard-core neo-conservative, so he will lose half of the Tea Party, and gain none of the leftists that they are attempting to appeal to (except the leftist neo-conservatives of course).

GEEZE.

Can the "anyone but Paul" theme of the GOP be any clearer.
