I doubt they'd ever select an active politician - even Obama.

Actually, no living person can be on a US stamp. I think putting Ron on stamps and coins is a good idea, but maybe a couple decades from now.

In fact I think a person must be dead 5 years to appear on a stamp.

The Postal Service has changed their policy regarding who can be put on stamps, that is why they are asking for suggestions on which living people you would like to see on their stamps. I think they are going to do a special series of stamps with living people on them.
