In the midst of homecoming weekend, 76-year-old congressman manages to draw 1,000 students to campus speech.

In part:

IOWA CITY, Iowa—It’s homecoming night at the University of Iowa. The air is thick with excitement as students flee Friday classes and the cars of alumni returning to campus clog the streets. As night falls, a parade winds through the downtown area. But at 8 p.m., more than 1,000 students head to the Iowa Memorial Union building for a presidential candidate's speech.

President Obama?

Nope. It's Ron Paul.

I was there! It was a great event. Afterwards I met a student here from China that came to see Dr Paul and he was very excited about it and was asking for us to take pics of him with Ron Paul signs and whatnot. All in all, it helps solidify the fact that Ron Paul is #1 is Iowa and the other candidates will have to work if they don't want to lose the first in the nation caucus.

If anyone wants to see the speech, it was broadcast on cspan 2:

Rock Stars get the Ron Paul treatment.

"Rock" "stars" are nothing, a creation of our weak mind influenced by the parasites from media. They are not rock, nor are they stars. Stars are what you see at night when you look up, and I don't see Elvis flying thru the air. These drug using amateur entertainers (can't call them musicians, Heifetz is a musician) should not be mentioned in the same sentence as the people of actual real value like Ron Paul.

mad rant over/

Well, it's CBS, so what kind of a title did you expect?

I'm going to merge this with the other one, it seems to be the same story, with a different title and a picture.

Yeah...I kind of agree. The exception is Ron Paul was made a "rockstar" by the people instead of the media so he is a true star.

Ron is indeed a Rock Star - always drawing big crowds. I love the university crowds in particular. All those young minds blessed to be able to see
and hear the message of Liberty.

wonky issues like monetary policy and a return to the gold standard.

Rebecca Kaplan is covering the Rick Perry campaign for CBS News and National Journal. Oh ok, I get it now.
