View Full Version : Ron Paul Wall: a Social marketing idea

The idea is this. Have a website, where people can upload a photo of themself, add a small comment, and maybe a link to their social networking profile.
The main feature of the website is a huge artistic mural of Ron Paul and the movement. This would need to be a very pretty image.
But the image itself starts off blank. It's drawn using very small versions of the images that people upload. So as more people participate, the more of the mural is shown. As people scroll over the pixels they can zoom in and see their picture & comment.
What do you guys think?

Ya. I'm apparently not so good with this whole 'original idea' thing.
Though I was thinking of something a bit more professional looking etc

I like the idea and would be willing to contribute some development time.
Perhaps a fund raising aspect to it as well... similar to http://milliondollarhomepage.com/ ?
Just getting a massive wall of supporters alone would be another way to show just how strong we are.

LOL. That mosaic was actually made into a print ad last campaign.
It looked like this... http://www.mmashirts.com/capturedata470446.jpg

Bumpity bump.
I'm serious about this idea, but it's one of those things I'm not sure other people would take part in.
The idea would be to have people log in through one of the social sign-on services (facebook, twitter, google). This is actually really easy and is nice because it doesn't involve capturing the user's email. With user profile data, we'd grab the picture and throw it onto a "ron paul wall" or whatever we'd call this thing.
Perhaps the user would be prompted to make a small >=$5 donation or asked to share with friends. The thing could get pretty massive fast. Maybe donors are thrown to the top of the wall?
Any support out there? Or ideas?

I'm thinking we make or use a variation of this image:

Photoshop a better picture of Paul on stage, and maybe add some ornamental decoration along the edges, constitution, white house, etc

Interesting. Have any ideas of what we'd call it?
