Things I recommend.

Marketing
Simply calling it "Veterans For Paul" or "Veterans Day Moneybomb" would not be considered good marketing no matter how you look at it. The target audience for a moneybomb is all Ron Paul supporters and the message must appeal to them. The only ones who would consider either of these as motivating would be veterans and possibly someone currently in the military. Themes such as "End the Wars" or "Bring the Troops Home" are all basic and would work combined with the date 11-11-11.

Other themes I would put out there are two phrases we all know. From the Declaration of Independence, "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." and from the military oath, "...do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic". I am sure a creative domain name could be created from either.

Don't rely on the Facebook event system.
Why? It sucks. It is fine to tap and utilize Facebook, but unless they drastically change how their events work, we should avoid it if possible. We should mostly use the pledge system on a website. It allows us to collect email addresses and easily remind them of the day. Losing the invite system is the downside of not using the Facebook events, but I think we should find a way to easily mass message supporters on Facebook instead. It would be much more effective as most people probably never even saw the Facebook invite given to them.

Lofty goals and guidance within the market
A primary differences between 2011 moneybombs and 2007 moneybombs is that in 2007, we urged people to donate a large sum of money. The goal of November 5th was $10 million and the pledge on the website was for $100. There were videos encouraging people to donate $100. Right now I think most people feel fine in simply donating a small amount when we need a large amount.

Don't ignore MySpace
MySpace is largely dying, but it still has a lot of known Ron Paul supporters on there and you have the option to email them via MySpace.

Phone banking
Calling past donors and known Ron Paul supporters should be done early. There was an effort the last moneybomb but it came entirely too late. If you notify them early, it gives them time to set aside the funds requested.

Advertise
Advertising that specifically targets places where Ron Paul supporters frequent is key, in my opinion. Yes, I mean pay for advertising. You can't expect to get something for free. Advertising will broaden our reach to people who do not frequent forums and Ron Paul sites.

A list of sites I would utilize or advertise on:
Yahoo & Bing (https://adcenter.microsoft.com)
Google Adwords (https://adwords.google.com )
Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/adsmarketing/)
Twitter (https://business.twitter.com/advertise/start/)

Mike Church website (http://mikechurch.com/adagencyPackages.html) (only $100 for a whole month)
Lew Rockwell (http://www.lewrockwell.com/advertising/zones-prices.html) (website and podcast)
AntiWar (http://antiwar.com/advertise )
Info Wars (http://infowars.net/advertise.html)
Above Top Secret (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/advertising.php)
Reason (http://reason.com/advertise)

Stossel and Freedom Watch via Google Ads TV (https://www.google.com/ads/tv/) (30 second or 60 second TV ad)

I think we should call it "Just Come Home" from Ron Paul line at the debates in 2007, "We just marched in and we can just come home." It works for ending the wars and bringing the troops home from all over the globe.

And ditto on Facebook sucking for moneybombs. An event page is especially sucktacular. We don't have our mass mailing script wizard from last campaign, which was the only reason facebook worked that time.

Since the vets are donating to Paul more than any other Republican or the President, make sure to target them. Suggest $50 for each tour of duty, or $50 for each year wasted in the sandbox. $50 for every family member who was a veteran. For parents, $50 for each child you don't want to end going to war for unnecessary reasons. These are just ideas, but I think it is more beneficial than asking for open-ended donations.

For advertising I would suggest expanding by posting on the following forums.

Bring The Troops Home is my favorite name. It's personal and the message spans the entire R3VOLution, vrom blue republicans to libertarians to true conservatives.

Part of discussing behind the naming is to not include "moneybomb" in the name. "Black This Out" didn't have "moneybomb" in the name but it was still was described as so. Maybe just a regular fundraiser?

In terms of video content, we should repackage the clips of veterans and active troops that have already said something along the lines of.. "People always thank me for my service.. I tell them they can thank me by donating to Ron Paul to bring my buddies home."

I would add that there should be at least one on the ground activity of some sort. And that should be started immediately, along with everything else, and not wait until the last minute.

When you have a name, a theme, you have the on the ground action named and planned as well - they work in tandem. The on the ground event is mentioned alongside the moneybomb.

Must:
Promote Paul plan on spending cuts and economy
Promote female voters
Dr Paul's honesty and integrity

Avoid:
Negativity and negative media
Preaching only to the choir

Unfortunately the last moneybomb did the last two all to well and hence little improvement in the polls.

"You can thank me by voting for Dr. Ron Paul."

For visuals/logo, perhaps something similar to Youth for Ron Paul with the V-peace sign:

Bump this outstanding thread. Folowing in on the heels of BTO, which is already at about $2.5 million, 11/11 will probably get a lot of media attention, so it should be well planned/promoted.

Slightly OT: In conjunction with this fundraiser, for those maxxed out or non-US citizens, I'd like to suggest a book bomb donation to base libraries. The Marines take donations, sit on them for a while and then send them to any base library in the world. I donated a copy of "End the Fed" to the Foster library a year or so again. It took almost a year for the book to end up on the shelf. There are maybe 5 copies now. At least one was at 29 Palms. But if we flooded the Marine libraries with enough copies of Ron's books, they'd eventually filter through the whole system. I'm not sure about the Air Force libraries. But if books were purchased, someone (vet?) could get them on bases and into the right hands.
Same for school libraries: I have students, including YT's YBOTH3R1, who want to read Schiff's book whenever they're in study hall. We might as well. I don't know if this works well in the primary time frame, but it gets the ideas out there, particularly to the military active duty.

We need some major anti-war rallies with veterans to coincide

"Please help Dr. Paul bring my husband back alive!"

I'm sure we can get plenty of clips of friends/family of active military troops saying, "My ___ is serving in ___. Please help Dr. Paul bring home my ___ alive!"

Inserting husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, friend, pal, bud, etc.

I wouldn't send books. Send something soldiers REALLY want, like food. You don't want something like this happening:

I agree that we should pursue advertising the 11-11-11 MB. Those who make the video's should PM me. I tried to reach out to the 10/19 MB folks to get a :30 ad and got no reply.

What about:

"Bring Them Home" Moneybomb - "A Bomb to End the Bombs"

On the ticker, just put in big letters, "Bring Them Home" with an image of a soldier hugging his child. Pictures speak louder than words.

Also speaks to the wives and how the wars hurt the family.

I'm glad the Nov money bomb is on a Friday compared to this one which was on a Wednesday. I think people would be more willing to give knowing that they just received their paycheck.

Yep, this MB has amazing potential for promotion and, indeed, for uniting an emotionally-charged cause.

I like the Bring Them Home MB, BTH.

I agree with the OP on pretty much all points. In 2007 we didn't use Facebook, and the pledges were $100, not 20.12 or whatever.

The oath to defenf the Constitution is very powerful, and ties into Ron Paul's message very well.

I think of Nov. 11th as Armistice Day, when the madness of WWI (the "war to end all wars") finally stopped.

Bring Them Home will work as the theme.
