All Ron, all the time.
Just a thought that I had go through my head and I thought I would float it out there. I'm certain that there are RP supporters who would have a good idea on how to get it going and enough people who know his stances to be effective writers for it. Thoughts?

no, that's too cultish. A liberty news network would be great though!

Yeah that's scary. I don't like Liberty New Network either. If you call it liberty, it will only attract libertarian/liberty loving folks. If you plan to educate the masses, pick a name that has mass appeal to it.

I love the concept, but you would need a name that would draw regular conservatives in too. We could do a lot with it.

How about Freedom News Network and highlight stories and politicians who embody the message of freedom? Naturally, Ron Paul is THE man when it comes to that but, well, you get the idea

But that is the base that is growing. Even if you don't call it something like that, if the writers are bent towards libertarian ideas, people will see it for what it is anyway. The neocons need to be educated, and with the current economic collapse more than likely getting a lot worse, I think this is a great idea. The "Tea Party" has already been watered down by neocons from the original event that was centered around Ron Paul, so I think something like this would be a beacon that would definitely draw in like-minded people and grow. LNN - Liberty News Network

I believe Break the Matrix was trying to do this. It did not take off though.

Technology is to the point at this point where you could sell a small device with ethernet input and HDMI output with a Liberty channel on it.

Something like the http://www.raspberrypi.org/ could work. The Rasberry Pi is a $25 computer that runs Linux with an ethernet input and HDMI output. You could program the thing to open up an app that runs an ongoing stream.

or FNN - either way. I think they both have a fine idea behind them, whatever you call it. The question is - where do we start? I can see having writers start off as donors for the launch but eventually they would need to get paid. I would expect to get paid if I wrote for a business. I can see digging for all the stories in Congress that the MSM ignores or minimizes that affect our freedom. That would be a GREAT angle to hit, as well as stories and legislation that positively impact our freedoms and liberties. Could even have segments educating people on the Constitution, etc... Could be GREAT! If done right.

Could start with a basic website donated by someone who has that skill (in building professional websites) but eventually, if it took off, pay them for their services.
Could get $$$ from advertising that comes from places that agree with the philosophy and want to get their message out, etc...
Just some quick thoughts. Gotta get ready for work

Thing is - we need to create an alternative to the MSM that is IN the MSM. It would take years and dedication, but it could be done.

As an aside - I don't think breakthematrix has the dedicated force of people that we do to get something like this off the ground

Break the Matrix was Trevor Lyman's venture after the election fizzled out. He had the contacts of all of us to get it going. It just never caught on.

Trying to do it within the MSM would take millions of dollars and someone from within willing to give us a shot.

That's not exactly what I meant. I was thinking more along the lines that over time it would become a main stream media outlet but with a freedom/liberty bent and without being like the MSM currently is - which is corporate shills.

Let's face it, also - breakthematrix doesn't really sound like something the average person is going to consider. Sounds to conspiracy theorist. Something with a name that will appeal to the 80% of the people out there who WANT real news and don't know they are being lied to is more what I was thinking of.

Looks like it cost over $100 million (http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/tv/oprah_costs_discovery_fortune_cIalH31uPUIuAlYazc6W JJ) to start OWN (Oprah's network).

Looks like it was $200 million (http://www.deadline.com/2011/01/ok-start-for-oprahs-own-cable-network/)..

That's a lotta moneybombs!

You just need to buy one of the existing Media outlets. The infrastructure is already in place along with the FCC licensing.

Which one could be bought cheapest?

buying a media outlet in a single market could be a place to start and then growing it but where would the funds come from?

i'm seriously tbinking of starting a website to get things going but we'd need writers, a server. an html guy, etc...

I'd like to turn RPF into a full-fledged news site.

I tried with www.Votemotion.com (http://www.Votemotion.com) - Nope.

Tried with www.BreakingReport.com (http://www.BreakingReport.com) - Nope.

Evidently I'm doing something wrong or I didn't try long enough.

Sorry if that's off-topic.

Not my project, but www.Peer2Paul.com (http://www.Peer2Paul.com) is good for across the board RP news.

I may add a page similar to that here on RPF.

i think, josh that we need to build something from the ground up that looks and acts main stream with a bias towards stories that affect individual freedoms and liberties. Independent News Network has a nice ring. A podcast and/or streaming radio could go with to start

Yea, this next week I'll start changing up the way the front page displays. I have a few ideas in mind. We just have to start planting seeds.

We can become like InfoWars and then move on up from there.

Wouldn't the description be "writer'?

Salary can be negotiated when it gets big enough. :-)
