Federal checkpoints were rolled out simultaneously in seven locations on the streets of Tennessee this week. Weigh stations and bus stations seem to be their current focus. They came complete with Federal agents, constitution-free searches, terror-sniffing dogs, and plenty of B.S. "See Something, Say Something" propaganda.

We should all live in constant fear, reinforced by this type of government behavior telling us there is a boogeyman around every corner, so that we can all have our freedoms taken away and live under constant government survelliance to provide us a false sense of security.

Those Channel 5 NEWS(PROPAGANDA) Morons obviously, don't know what the Constitution or Bill of Rights are in this country. THe McVeigh comment at the end was for Probable Cause, everything else is not and a violations of multiple parts in bill of rights.

It's truly another excuse for complete control and to segregate the public if theirs any uprisings against the government... whether federal, state, or local.

If you share this story, please let people know that Ron Paul is the only candidate interested in abolishing this freakish agency.

Ron Paul proposes abolishing the TSA in his Plan to Restore America (http://thehill.com/blogs/transportation-report/tsa/188271-ron-paul-proposes-abolishing-the-tsa-in-plan-to-restore-america-)

Paul, a Republican presidential candidate and a lawmaker from Texas, is a longtime critic of TSA who has suggested eliminating the airport security agency before. His new economic plan would get rid of TSA as well as five Cabinet-level agencies, which Paul says will save the U.S. government $1 trillion.

Instead of having a TSA, Paul's campaign said he was in favor of "returning responsibility for security to private property owners."

Yes he does,, if he ever gets the chance to do that.

I believe that AF has warned about this several times too. Perhaps he hasn't seen this yet.

For all those folks who say "Well, you can chose not to fly".
Here ya go.

:( Yucky.

I've been lucky so far at airports and haven't had to encounter those goons. (No pat down, no invasive body scan, etc.) *knocks on wood*

I have a question:

The TSA would only have jurisdiction is it involved inter-state travel right? Say you're travelling within the state, they have absolutely no grounds to search you as long as you're not crossing state lines or involved in inter-state commerce? Interstate highways are not federal property either right? I assume their not because state police patrol them.

What about flying within a state? Say LA to San Francisco. Would the TSA technically be outside it's jurisdiction as there is no interstate travel going on?

The program provides funds to owners and operators of transit systems (which include intracity bus, commuter bus, ferries, and all forms of passenger rail).

http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/grants/programs/tsgp_tierii/2010/index.shtm

TSA's National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program prepares dogs and handlers to serve on the front lines of America's War on Terror. These very effective, mobile teams can quickly locate and identify dangerous materials that may present a threat to transportation systems. Just as important, they can quickly rule out the presence of dangerous materials in unattended packages, structures or vehicles, allowing the free and efficient flow of commerce.:D

If you have common sense, then yes, you are right. Unfortunately, our government and supreme court have decreed that even growing your own food on your own land for your own consumption effects the price of food elsewhere and thus you are engaged in interstate commerce and subject to the will of your masters. Seriously.

No really, I'm cereal.

For realzies.

The checkpoints are for our safety case closed.... You want them gone....... then the USA will no longer be the USA..... many wil die from drug addiction and the USA will become over populated.... shortages in money and food will occur because resource grow scarce!

You do know checkpoints are what help against terrorism...... what would you rather... thousands - millions killed or a few checkpoints... Nazi Germany was completely different, im a German History Enthusiest (WW2 German Reenactor), Germany had checkpoints to protect Germany.... which is the same reason we have check points around our borders for our safety..... Nazi Germany and checkpoints were for Der Fuhrer's protection and for arresting Jews/Spies.... Im not saying what they did was right..

Dammit! If we can get Ron elected I'd like the cornerstone of his inaugural address to be: Today, we have won the 'War on Terror.'

what do i think? i think the first post is the prevailing attitude. and i think the 2nd post proves that, for the most part, people have zero ability to think logically.

put all this together and ultimately, i think we are screwed.

Oh yeah, I saw it.

And we've all seen many stories just like this.

Folks, saying "Well then, I won't fly" is not a viable option.

TSA has made it very clear that they intend to expand into all forms of transportation over the coming years, along with large public gatherings.

If checkpoints and interrogations by federal officers over your comings and goings at every road junction, bus terminal, or train station and having your children felt up to go see "Muppets on Ice", is what you want for a future, then ignore this now.

Add up the number of total donors to BTO and divide that by 300 million and you have your numbers.

i see it really getting worse when the mexican truck drivers start hitting all the roads (ooohh... loooook... there are guidelines.... how lovely!! and the Justice Department is involved!! huzzah! hxxp://safeaholic.wordpress.com/2011/09/15/mexican-truck-drivers-allowed-back-into-the-u-s/). i think these are just a trial runs.
