if the net is being faster because its nighttime or the

1) you can delete old posts.
2) switch off search as the search causes all the db to be loaded into memory.
3) move old posts to a seperate db that is not searchable.

I might look at number two if things get bogged down.

Don't want to delete old unique content that bring in the googlers.
