The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/17/business/media/republican-debates-are-a-hot-ticket-on-tv.html?_r=1&hp) reports the GOP presidential debates this year are garnering almost twice as many viewers as any of the early debates, Democratic or Republican, did four years ago.

the internet and/or cable has them in full. the regular VHF channels have not been broadcasting them, or pbs.
if more people are seeing them via cable an/or internet video, the audiance is more hip, techie and younger!!!

Maybe because Ron Paul has many times the support he did 4 years ago?

I'm convinced that if we continue to elect the worst nominees of the two major parties, people will get involved in the process, out of sheer necessity. The time for sitting on one's couch and thinking that just because you don't pay attention to government means that government won't pay attention to you, is ending.

The question is, are the newcomers to politics going to be duped, or will they see the one candidate who is vastly different than the rest?
