I took a few minutes out of my day today to write one of my California State Senators: Tom Mcclintock (R-CA).

I asked him to publicly endorse Ron Paul for president. Maybe you guys might want to do the same with prominent Republican Politicians in your states as well.

Mcclintock lost to Arnold in the gubernatorial race a few years back, but he's very popular with the conservative California "base" of the republican party. It's of course a small group in a state like this, but basically anything this guy says publicly the conservatives in this state usually pay attention to. Arnold generally doesn't get the same kind of love from the conservative wing of the party. In fact, Arnold is often villified as a RINO.

It seems to me the best thing to do is to get conservative republicans on board with Paul. They are the one's who vote in primary elections. The more true conservatives we can get away from the big government centrists, the better.

Here is the email I wrote:

Senator Mcclintock,

As you may well be aware, we have a true
constitutional conservative running for President in
this country and one that appears to hold the same
principles of limited government that you espouse.

I speak of Ron Paul, Republican congressman from
Texas. As a concerned voter who voted for you in both
the gubernatorial recall election and your race for
lieutenant governor in the most recent statewide
election, I encourage you to publicly endorse this
man.

Your endorsement would carry a lot of weight with
the small government conservative base in California
and I believe a Ron Paul victory in the primaries
would best help achieve our goals of fiscally
conservative government policies and federalist state
rights over centralized big government power. I
believe he is the best choice for pushing these values
over any other candidate in either party.

Please join the United Republicans of California in
endorsing this Anti-Tax, Pro-Liberty and Pro-Life
candidate as the Republican nominee for President this
year.

Thank you for many years of government service for
our great state. I wish you continued success. I
look forward to voting for you in the next statewide
election should you run again. I always tell my
friends and family to do the same.

Yes it helps. I got a letter back from my local representative, and he is a huge supporter of Ron Paul. A lot of them simply fear neocon backlash, but they need to hear from us to know that they have our support if they like ron paul.

Getting the word out to anybody helps. I'm writing to all the leaders of NY GOP organizations. It would be good to write to College Republicans. Look them up at your State GOP
