Tied with Cain behind Romney with 44% (ouch).

This week's NBC News Poll taken by the Marist Institute and released hours before the debate showed a slight Romney lead in Iowa but a decisive Romney advantage in New Hampshire, with his 44 percent more than three times bigger than his two closest rivals (Mr. Cain and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, both at 13 percent) and seven times bigger than his putative (but increasingly less pugilistic) opponent, Mr. Perry, who in New Hampshire if not nationally is rapidly becoming an afterthought rather than a thoughtful alternative for a Republican morning after.

Most of this is about how Mitt has it in the bag and is all chivalrous and stuff like that, but it ends halfway decently:

Mr. Romney remains over-prepared and over-programmed. One, maybe two, of his rivals will have a moment in the sun, and my bet goes to Mr. Paul, who has worked the hardest and has yet to have his harvest. And it is a long way from a campus debate to a general election. But Tuesday showed that Mr. Romney's Republican opponents -- and Mr. Obama -- have reason to be worried, maybe very worried.

"Live Free or Elect Mitt"...

Hopefully it's soft support.

We gotta rally those college students in NH.

NH is a voter fraud state, they shouldn't even matter.

it's new to me, thanks sailing.

Paul looking more and more likely to get that 2nd place finish in NH.

Yeah but lets be honest. They'll spin a 44% to 13% spread.

Didn't see it, but it's good to hear. Paul's polling at a consistent 13/14-percent in NH. Hopefully we can continue the job of consistently and steadily pushing him up a bit and take second there.

I missed it. Thanks.

A huge percentage of voters in NH are undecided, and the biggest voting block are independents. Let's get that 13% campaigning.

While I agree it's odd that one of the smallest states has as much pull as NH does... Blanket statements like that make you sound ignorant - how about some backup to that statement.. Do your research, NH residents are among the most politically involved residents anywhere..

NH doesn't decide until the last minute. It's anyone's guess who will win there.

Would a Buchanan edorsement be good for NH?

I find it interesting that as Cain rises, Perry falls, Paul's support stays solid. If we work hard, we CAN win!

Oh, I didn't notice the second group of numbers was a different poll, I thought it was cross tabs. Thanks.
