We are hosting a 7-Day Blitz competition on Black THIS Out up until October 19th! The goal of this competition is to get Ron Paul supporters involved in promoting the moneybomb and rewarding them for their hard work! You can sign up for a referral page and anytime someone pledges through that page, you'll receive a point on the leaderboard! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will win prizes and RPF members will be getting a little bit of a head start!

Be sure to sign up for a referral page at http://www.blackthisout.com and use your unique link to promote the moneybomb! I recommend using a URL shortener (such as http://goo.gl or http://bit.ly) for now for your links, until we get URL masking in place.

Prizes are as follows (I'll be updating the web site very soon):

First Prize:
Official Black this Out Ron Paul Money Bomb T Shirt
One Ounce Ron Paul .999 Pure Silver Medallion
$50 Gift Certificate for RonPaulSwag.com (http://RonPaulSwag.com)

Second Prize:
Official Black this Out Ron Paul Money Bomb T Shirt
One Tenth Ounce Ron Paul .999 Pure Silver Medallion
$25 Gift Certificate for RonPaulSwag.com (http://RonPaulSwag.com)

Third Prize:
Official Black this Out Ron Paul Money Bomb T Shirt
One Ounce Ron Paul Copper Medallion

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let the competition begin!

This is brilliant, but it's not on the site at this moment (seems like you're aware). Make sure people see the prizes front and center, should be a big motivational tool. Anyways, can't wait to see how this propels things!

Barely making ends meet, whole week off though, hours suck at work, I might have found a couple of prospects. Needless to say I have no excuses this week. Have been and will continue to promote. When I'm able to get a referral page send me a PM so I know to go ahead and get one. Back to work.

Been promoting it already; will keep doing so.

I think it would be better to cut the last line from the text box:
"This noble struggle is one we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained."

The language is perhaps tough for newcomers to relate to.

Sorry guys, having a small setback. I apologize to those who've already created referral pages that weren't working! Yours should be working now, but I have to prevent new ones for a few minutes here while I troubleshoot why new ones glitch.

Unfortunately, I have an extremely minor glitch happening that has completely derailed this today. It's been pretty frustrating. I've been reaching out to other developers to pinpoint the problem and so far not much headway. I will likely stay up for the remainder of the night until I can get it figured out. It's disappointing to lose a day on this.

There might be a small bug with the list sorting by ascending numbers rather than descending, but otherwise seems to be working!

dusman, can you add something?

this is what my referral looks like:
http://www.blackthisout.com/users/chainspell

if you can add this "referral" or "refer" or something that's not users or even show the users name. the link looks a little fishy seeing "/users/chainspell". I'm a little concerned about losing clicks :(
http://www.blackthisout.com/referral/chainspell

or
http://www.blackthisout.com/referral=48763

on youtube especially people can see the link.

if you're having trouble with the rand number generator, just replace some the vowels with numbers like mine would look like:
http://www.blackthisout.com/referral=ch12nsp4ll

or http://www.blackthisout.com/referral=d5sm1n for dusman

You can shorten the link at tinyurl.com or a similar website so people don't see the username, still has the same effect

I'm working on a way to mask the URLs so that no one really sees the referral name. At this time, the best option is a url shortener.

I thought about it but tinyurl is the same character length. If you search the hashtags I used, Twitter shortens it for me: t.co/MEYyQZRF. Only those that "follow" me will see the longer URL and they know I'm not a scammer, I hope!

Unfortunately I can't spend like any time tomorrow so I will probably fall down the list a little :(

Awesome. I've been watching you move up today. I'm hoping this type of system is much more rewarding when you see yourself generating pledges.. ultimately that's the goal!

26 @ $50.00 avg. donation is approx. $1,300 in donations you have generated. I think that's pretty cool!

Yeah!! Maybe for the future, you could incorporate ^^ information into the website, for the Tea Party MB or whatever (you said you were transferring stuff over right?), it would probably be motivating to people.

And that is only what we have generated since the leader board has been up, some of us have been doing this for nearly a month now!! :)

Do you get to see how many people signed up but didn't confirm their emails on your end, dusman? quite a few people have told me they signed up, but my total didn't rise accordingly. I'm assuming that'd be the reason?

I am really excited about this money bomb...its so funny to think this all came from a thread I read early early on of someone saying I think we should have a moneybomb around the theme of Media Black out. I think we will help Ron Paul raise 10million on the 19th.

Been picking up shifts at work these past 3 days, haven't had the time I've had earlier in the week. I've been staying up all night promoting but no ones up that late pledging lol. Tomorrow I have to run by the the government complex to get information on what legal channels and paperwork I would need to submit for an organized sign wave on the 5th if there are any. Me and another local are starting up a meetup. I'm heading by the community college to look into setting up a table to identify RP supporters available on the 5th to sign wave with us. I hope to find 15-20 potential supporters that can dedicate a few hours on the 5th. Strategically split up into 4-5 different groups hitting all the major intersections. Big college town, coastal area, lots of traffic. Could be a huge success if we can manage to lay the groundwork. After the sign wave we hope to sustain a bi-weekly meetup for future campaign events. These past few weeks, I've gotten energized and I plan on doing some major campaigning as well as running this meet up.

With that said, Nick and and treat are benefiting from my recent uptick in offline activity :P

JK! This competition was a fantastic idea and I love seeing myself on top of that leaderboard, I'll fight tooth and nail to reclaim my spot. Good hunting all of you. I hope everyone on that list beats me. Keep up the fantastic work.

~ Mike
