The plan to move the Ron Paul people behind Newt was formulated a looong time ago in secret I think. I picked up on it first hand when I was approached by an "insider", said he had contacts with an ambassador from a middle eastern country that had met with him and said "We know more than you do, we'll protect you" and this individual has been on Anderson Cooper ftw he is at least a little on the inside I know that, anyway... he approached me in person and wanted to have dinner sometime... I didn't like his vibe even though he sounded like he was 90% liberty I could tell he was a neocon ploy to sweep the tea party and Ron Paul supports under into the Newt camp. This was late 2010. He saw me as an opportunity into the local tea party/ron paul scene and tried to capitalize I think, I wasn't having it and flat out told him I did not trust Newt. He didn't have anything much after that but mentioned Jim DeMint too.

I expect the GOP secret strategy is Newt. They want the last two to be Romney and Newt with Cain the VP candidate.

For those of you that were not at the debate, Newt and Paul laughed together during one of the breaks. My guess is they were laughing about the federal reserve but I was sitting 20-30 feet from them and couldn't make out the conversation.

Gingrich is at the point in his career where he knows he's old, and he knows he's going to be retiring soon and I feel like he just wants to be that old guy that doesn't appreciate bullshit. I know I don't have the entire picture but every debate I've seen him in, if Ron Paul wasn't running Gingrich would probably be the only person I could stomach supporting. At least he acknowledges the truth when he hears it and he doesn't tolerate bullshit. Despite him being part of the problem you at least have to respect him for that.
