Intersting call

My bank just called me to verify some transactions that I made today.
hmmmmmm
I have been with this bank for about 7 years and have moved many thousands of $ in and out without EVER getting a call to verify.
$500 to Ron
$47 at Pathmark (yes they asked about them both)

so, is this just a product of many people making this transaction today?
Or something more?
