Alert !!!!! Protest Congressman Grimm in Staten Island today!!!!

Tea Party Furious Over Romney Endorsement:

Protest at Congressman Michael Grimm’s Staten Island Office Tonight

October 10, 2011
4:30 pm – 7:00 pm EST
265 New Dorp Lane Staten Island NY

Congressman Grimm of Staten Island, who was elected to office in 2010 with the support of the Tea Party, made news yesterday by giving his endorsement to the one presidential candidate most out of step with Tea Party values: Former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney has a history of being on the wrong side of key Tea Party issues, including his support for the TARP Bank Bailouts and universal healthcare.

When there are several authentic Tea Party candidates in the presidential race, including Michelle Bachman, Ron Paul, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry, many Tea Partiers are asking, “Has Congressman Grimm sold us out for the GOP establishment? Has he already been co-opted by Washington?”

Tea Partiers from all camps (including supporters of Bachman, Paul, Cain, and Perry) are rallying in protest of Congressman Grimm. We will be protesting Grimm’s endorsement tonight in front of his Staten Island office. We have a sound permit and speakers in attendance. Media are welcome to cover the event.

Interestingly, the group characterizing itself as a “Tea Party” organization is actually NYC Liberty (http://www.libertyhq.org/2011/10/10/alert-protest-congressman-grimm-in-staten-island-today/), a Ron Paul supporter group. It’s not exactly news when Ron Paul fans oppose Mitt Romney, and it certainly doesn’t hurt Romney’s image. But you know what does? Advancing the narrative that Tea Partiers won’t vote for Romney because he’s too liberal on fiscal issues. And that’s exactly what NYC Liberty seems to be doing with its “Tea Party” protest of Rep. Grimm.

Ha, I thought that was a pretty witty protest.
