Get ready for it:

Future Fox News / establishment debate question: "Ron Paul, you believe it's illegal to kill American citizens in the battlefield who are killing our troops. Al-Qaeda agrees with you. Do you really stand with Al-Qaeda terrorists who want to kill and do harm to America?"

Was Al-Alwaki on a battlefield? Did he kill any of our troops?

Do facts matter when the establishment is busy smearing Ron Paul?

Of course not! Those were rhetorical questions. :)

no. he didn't. but that doesn't seem to matter to the schmoes who got the memo to tout this as a victory against the "war on terror"

from this thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?321742-Can-Obama-legally-kill-you-%28Yes-says-Roger-Simon-quot-get-over-it-quot-%29

“His death takes a committed terrorist, intent on attacking the United States, off the battlefield,” an administration source said.

Note the reference to “battlefield.” Al-Awlaki was killed in a war in which the battlefield can be anywhere. Al-Awlaki posed an imminent threat to the United States, and our nation has an internationally recognized right to protect itself.

the funny thing about those few sentences: the administration clearly states that Awlaki had intent to do damage to the US on the battlefield. and then Simon goes on to say that the battlefield can be anywhere (the neocon meme for the wot), thus making the case that Awlaki was an enemy combatant. to the rejoicing of neocons and people who live in constant fear.

Simon is clearly delusional. as is the administration.
