Grassroots Project "Ron Paul Myths" Fully Launches!

Ron Paul Myths, a site that many grassroots supporters here have been working on, is finally completed. Pretty soon, we will be promoting this all throughout Facebook, if all goes well. The website is meant to educate people on the misinformation on Ron Paul -- the myths, the rumors, the lies. We just went ahead and redid our citations, and added an additional myth. We're hoping to really, really promote this as much as possible as a reference tool for people. If anyone can help, that would be much appreciated!

We're eager to make the articles on the website as accurate as possible, and as persuasive without inserting our own opinions. Feedback is welcome. Oh, this seems like a cool project!

But may I suggest a bit of redesign? A few points:


There's a lot of text. You'll want this to be readable. Think e-book reader simplicity:

Maybe even 16 pixel font minimum. See 16 PIXELS For Body Copy. Anything Less Is A Costly Mistake (http://nullrefer.com/?tinyurl.com/16pixelsforbodycopy).
Better paragraph spacing.
More contrast.



The color red can symbolize passion. However, it is also threatening — especially when paired with black. Think Darth Vader. Dun dun dun! ♫♪


Has SEO optimization been considered?


The "MYTH" statements are disturbing. They sort of provide negative reinforcement. "Ron Paul is unelectable. Ron Paul isn't serious. Ron Paul is … " It's great that a more positive statement is provided for clarification. This part should really be emphasized imho! Maybe even set it in green to contrast it with the red "myths." :)

Also, I would recommend taking down this text til you have it finished.

"MYTH: Ron Paul is weak on Iran and won't act to stop Iran getting nuclear weapons. (Temporarily unavailable; check back soon!)"

The last thing you want is them having new unanswered questions by visiting. ;)

As for the suggestions, let's see--
1) Maybe we can increase the font size, that might be something we should do.
2) Making the "FACT" green is definitely something we can do. I'll get on that now, and hopefully be able to get it up in the next hour or so.
3) SEO Optimization has definitely been considered, but we've just never gotten around to it yet. If anyone is able to help with that or offer advice, please let us know!
4) As for the Iran myth that's up there, I know, you're definitely right! I'm just... not the best with coding. I just revised a lot of the articles, I didn't code the website -- Steve-in-NY did. So aside from deleting it, I'm not too sure how to do that. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get that fixed in the next day or two, though :) I'll try taking out the Iran part, though -- that might be an alternative for the time being.

Sorry if I didn't respond to all of the suggestions -- they're all very good, and thank you! Just limited on time right now, as a college student. I'll definitely see what I can do, though.

Also, I really can't take any of the thanks for this project. If you want to thank someone, please, please, please thank Steve-in-NY and wstrucke. Steve-in-NY coded the entire site and put a ton of time into this project. Wstrucke is generously hosting the entire thing, as well. And there were tons of people who helped with all of the articles, too. So please, they deserve the credit lol.

My first emotional reaction to the banner --(a critique) Here goes...

When the site first popped up I saw the Obama Red,white and blue swoosh - Even though I knew the jist of the site I had a repulsive gag-like emotion connected with the swoosh. My point is -- how many other folks would click on it and have the same guttural response? Maybe I'm over sensitive. I don't know. But since the site is created by you kick-ass folks, I just thought maybe you could change it if you deemed it necessary. Maybe I'm one in a million, maybe I'm not.

--- And Yes, I get the reference of the swoosh to "Myths", its obvious. But the point was my initial first glimpse, my first impression. It wasn't so good. Remember, even the best directors and producers in hollywood screen their movies(to out-of-the-loop audiences) before final editing. Now get back to doing what you do -- and again, thank you for your action.

It's just... I tried to fix the red, and it didn't come out that great. If anyone is good with graphical design and can touch it and the banner up to make the bottom red "swoosh" more... smooth? That would be great :)

Fixed--the Iran myth is now up and running.

And fixed the citations. Thanks! By the way, the site received 673 hits and 297 total visitors over a twenty four hour period yesterday. Let's keep the momentum going! Tell everyone you know, actively post the website in comment sections on websites, rebuke people on forums with it -- the more we spread the word about this the more voters we can easily get.
