Ex-commander: US started Afghan war lacking info

By ROBERT BURNS, AP National Security Writer – 1 hour ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. began the war in Afghanistan with a "frighteningly simplistic" view of the country, and even 10 years later lacks knowledge that could help bring the conflict to a successful end, a former top commander said Thursday.

McChrystal, who commanded coalition forces in 2009-10 and was forced to resign in a flap over a magazine article, said the U.S. entered Afghanistan in October 2001 with too little knowledge of Afghan culture.

Obama's masters usually love to send him out in front of cameras with a teleprompter but why Obama did not make a speech marking 10th anniversary of Afgahn freedom war?

Is it because they didn't want any attention brought to war crimes that took place under Obama's "good war" command?

A simple history lesson about past occupations should have sufficed.

Oh, well, gee. They said they were going there to get bin Laden, and bin Laden was in Pakistan. Now they say they were lacking information.

I say they were not only lacking intelligence, they didn't even have enough intelligence to know they might need intelligence. Furthermore, by insisting that the mission isn't complete even though the only stated mission was to get a guy who is now dead, they're insulting our intelligence to boot.

These people are nuts.
