View Full Version : Andy Kroll says Occupy Wall Street is Powered by Big Labor

In late September major labor unions mostly watched from the sidelines as the Occupy Wall Street protests grew from a ragtag band of diehards camping in a park into a fledgling movement grabbing national headlines and sparking similar protests around the country. Now, Big Labor is going to work: endorsing the protests, offering manpower and resources, and helping stage a major march in New York City's financial district on Wednesday. They are adding organizing muscle, fresh energy, and greater numbers to the boisterous demonstrations that began in downtown Manhattan more than two weeks ago.

Among those now jumping in is the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), the Empire State's largest union, representing 600,000 educators. In an interview Tuesday, spokesman Carl Korn for the first time publicly offered NYSUT's support for Occupy Wall Street and its message about shrinking income inequality, investing in public education, and making the rich pay their fair share in taxes. "Teachers and public employees represent the other 99 percent; they are not in the one percent," Korn said, echoing the theme of an Occupy Wall Street Tumblr gone viral. "We're supportive of that overarching message."

"Andy Kroll says"
This talking head says,, that talking head says,,

It was started by anonymous.
It was started many months ago and that information was posted on this forum at the time.
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?320560-What-it-s-All-About
It was widely ignored.
Patriots for the most part ignored it. The Tea party ignored it. Most folks on this forum ignored and forgot about it.

The unions and socialist/communist groups did not ignore it.

Whose fault is that?

Yet we have no idea who "anonymous" is except they're calling pretty much for a global revolution.

I still don't believe "anonymous" is one of us, sorry.

So am I in the 99% that the unions claim to represent or in the 1% of the ultra-rich?

I have a bad feeling about these protests being used as another tool to loot the working class, to immunize big corporations from competition, and solidifying the political status-quo.

I'm really reminded of 1920s Germany. And I get the feeling that we're all going to have to flee our homeland once a "strong leader" takes the reigns of oppression.

How is my statement in any way collectivist, considering I was describing myself as an individual?

And you have very little idea of what I may or may not know.
You are merely flaunting YOUR ignorance.

Anon is many voices. anyone can join the conversation. There are many ideas exchanged, many ideologies represented.

They are for the most part interested in Freedom. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression, and Human Rights.

For those that think all these folks are anti-capitalism,,, you are simply mistaken. They are anti corruption. opposed to Corporatism and greed. Most are quite capitalist.
Have you ever been to a Grateful Dead Concert? (I doubt it) Have you ever seen "Shakedown Street"? The market that accompanies any such events.
It is the very essence of Free Market Capitalism. In it's purest form.

You want a simple example?Look at DIGG.Com.Anyone who is aware of Digg.COM knows that there are groups of people who operate from other websites and decide what gets voted up and down to rig what gets viewed most. Don't think for one minute that ANON has not already been compromised.

Fascists love their freedom..their own definition of it. Please stop with the ignorant "we are one" saying. I don't stand in "solidarity" with people who don't have principles.

I suppose a leaderless resistance is considered quite a threat to those that seek to Control.

No single figure to attack or subvert. Kind of like punching at smoke.

A leader will always emerge from the chaos. Read history.
