When I made the decision to go to VVS, I was simultaneously looking at the VVS information and the flight information. I thought I had found a cheap flight, and foolishly went ahead and bought my VVS ticket first. It turned out the actual flight price was more than double what I had originally seen, $350 bucks. I could not really afford it, but I went ahead and put the flight on my credit card anyways. I'm hoping for some love from my Ron Paul brethren to help ease the financial pain this situation has caused me. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Can we get a thread going for any chip-ins to VVS? Like we did for CPAC? Would be a lot easier. With the BTO money bomb approaching, it would give the maxxed out members something to donate to.

I want to go, but I have emetophobia and I've never been on an airplane. I could drive, but I have a fear of the interstate and long travel. I'm on anxiety island.

I'm sorry, but we don't get ahead by subsidizing bad decisions.

$350 could have gotten 35 folks who were potentially on the fence about going, free tickets to go.. or could be used in a myriad of better ways than spending it on travel.

The most efficient way to get the bodies there would be through robopolling from rp08orbust. "champion of the constitution" and all that.

electronic communications are getting cheaper and gasoline is getting more expensive.

"Would be" implies a future tense. This event starts today in earnest.

As for subsidizing bad decisions, it's kind of true, but the tickets are all bought and this guy's already there. He's doing what we often tout on here as the right thing to do: asking for money and letting the market decide. People close enough to drive without hardship know about the $10 tickets. A lot of them got tickets when they were $99 as well.
