Hey, give them a break on this. They're just covering their butts in case something goes awry. It's pretty standard for the media to do something like this.

I knew the V/Guy Fawkes shit was coming......

Who cares?

People that saw and likes V for Vandetta might actually be interested since they are probably apolitical. Which equals more donations for Ron Paul. There really is no logical way to infer that this piece would hurt the donations more than it benefited. People who know about ron paul and nov 5th either noted today or didn't. People that don't know now know thus have the option to donate when otherwise they would not have.

Stop being negative.

Wasn't that bad, Wolf the ol' AIPAC spinmeister (he worked at AIPAC early in his career before realizing he could have a bigger effect by becoming an objective, mainstream journalist) didn't lay it on too thick.

He did seem genuinely amazed at the end that RP (or anyone) could raise $2.5m in one day. We'll see what he says when we hit $4m before midnight!

The number raised and the headlines generated will far outshadow the controversial aspect of the date.

I wasn't over joyed by the idea at first because the MSM would spin it with a slant and originally preferred Nov 11, but what the hell, it got buzz and excitement. It worked fabulously. And Dr. President will be stoked:

I thought it was great. What people will remember is the amazement in Wolf's voice - especially with him clarifying at the end that these were actually donations.

Should get quite a few newbies to look into RP - especially after there has been talk from the talking heads all day how the GOP "Brand" is dead.

Well, I guess the Ron Paul Revolution will have to reclaim that brand today ;)
