Paul raises $2.4 million in one day

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Ron Paul has had quite the fundraising day. The candidate has raised almost $2.4 million today on the campaign’s This November 5th money push. The campaign has a lofty fourth-quarter goal of $12 million, and it is nearly halfway there, according to its Web site with $5.5 million raised so far. The fourth quarter doesn’t end until Dec. 31.

Wolf Blitzer and CNN reported 2.4, which they said they could not confirm that they were infact donations and not just pledges until the end of quarter reports are filed.

The Wolf Blitzer just seemed like responsible reporting to me. Spin it anyway you want, but just because something is not 100% rah rah Ron Paul does not mean it is negative. The "internet reporter" Blitzer was talking to DID say they were donations, not pledges. He made a point t ask pledges or donations. She said "donations."

These things are ALWAYS "not confirmed until FEC reports."

just because you see a graphic on the internet with a dollar figure does not make something official. WE know the deal. But just because a report says "according to the campaign or according to this site" with a disclaimer that it cant be verified is NOT Bad news.

Yeah I think we're around 2.7 now. The report was ok, but it did show a little bias against Paul, but not much because they really couldn't put down these kinds of numbers much.

Look at this comment on MSNBC.com

I don't believe all of the claims that I hear about Ron Paul being loved online. Since this has no detail about how many people contributed, I don't know if it is one person or 100,000.

He could be a V.P candidate, but I don't believe he will win the nomination. He doesn't seem to understand the world as it is right now

They're only saying crap like that to try to discredit Paul to their viewers. They're acknowledging the fact of the amount of money raised, downplaying how important and amazing it is, and discrediting WHO and WHAT made it happen.

I'm doubting we will hear anything about this for awhile out of Fox.

What do you think... this kind of fund raising is scary to the status quo. Imagine Ron Paul in the general election.... this is only the primary season.
