This is a great idea. I'm going to look into doing some of these in Minnesota.

We've got Council Bluffs covered for this weekend:
http://www.facebook.com/groups/MaineForPaul/members/#!/event.php?eid=205722902826390

I'm working on getting a person or two for next weekend in Clarinda, but its not looking good right now.

Hopefully we'll be able to get some people from the new and growing Ron Paul Waterloo/Cedar Falls Facebook group to cover that one Oct 21-23:
http://www.facebook.com/groups/MaineForPaul/members/#!/groups/ronpaulwaterloo/

I also know there were a few people who were going to do the last one in Cedar Rapids, but I never heard how it went. Hopefully they'll be up for doing the next one as well.

And the official campaign staff will probably be heading up the Des Moines ones I think, although I'll follow up with them to be sure.

The tough ones will be the more rural ones IMO. Red Oak, McGregor, Ottumwa so if anyone from on here wants to make a trip to small town Iowa for a weekend I think it would be a good use of a chip in.

And maybe Storm Lake although we have a good facebook group in NW Iowa that's pretty active:

Definitely. That's probably our #1 goal at these even more than handing out literature.

Whoever sets up a booth at these gun shows needs to have some information or posters exposing our main challengers.

http://nationalgunrights.org/images/NewtNewspaper.jpg

While Newt used the institutional gun lobby as a mouthpiece to convince millions of gun owners nationwide that “as long as he is Speaker, no gun-control legislation is going to move in committee or on the House floor,” he was working behind the scenes to pass gun control.

In 1996, Newt Gingrich turned his back on guns and voted for the anti-gun Brady Campaign’s Lautenberg Gun Ban, which strips the Second Amendment rights of citizens involved in misdemeanor domestic violence charges or temporary protection orders –- in some cases for actions as minor as spanking a child or grabbing a spouse’s wrist.(1)

Gingrich even called the anti-gun measure “reasonable,” and predicted that it would sail through his Republican-controlled House of Representatives with little trouble.(2)

In Massachusetts he (Romney) bucked the National Rifle Association by supporting the Brady Bill and an assault-weapons ban, boasting, "I don't line up with the N.R.A."

If someone could make a video running in a loop. Have it show Newt and Romney's past support for gun control, then dig up some videos showing RP's strong support for the 2nd amendment. Run that video, pass out some brochures, collect info from interested parties, and you guys have a recipe for success!

If you can get enough people together and put together a solid plan, I'll happily donate to help this come together!

edit! I wasn't even paying attention to the dates or the thread date! Looks like you only have a couple left. Did you set these up, if so how did it go?

Anyone could easily walk in there and find people with a booth already and ask if you can place brochures on their table. I am sure there's a lot of Ron Paul supporters there already.

Then just keep coming back and keep replacing them as they go out.

That's another strategy we should utilize if we ourselves can't get a booth.

Bump.

Please get out there and pass some Ron Paul brochures around. Perfect time to expose and answer some people's questions.
