At the top of the forum it says at the start of the day we had 2,779,043.08.

On Ron Paul graphs it says we started with 3,115,107.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I looked back only a few pages and didn't thoroughly search through the forum for a topic like this. Forgive me if this is a duplicate topic.

2,779,043.08....then they added 350K in offline donations, so the real base for the day is 3,115,107.

I'll take the lower number the campaign gave out.

Everybody keeps saying they add 300k in offline donations. First, when did the campaign actually say this. Second, why does it matter if they are offline or online? They hit on November 5th, and therefore should count.

Exactly :D

Yes, I agree here. It seems we must take into account the ones that mailed in money specifically for the 5th also... :)

You have to base your number on the higher starting total, the one that counts the offline donations as having already happened (which they did). Obviously the offline donations which came in between Oct. 23rd and Nov. 4th are not for the Nov. 5th drive.

Chowda advised us of this, and chowda is getting this from contacts in the campaign. DO NOT DOUBT CHOWDA.

The reason is for the purposes of the graphs, they do not want the graphs to make it look like there was a big donation all at one time because that would screwup the numbers and predictions.

The offline money didnt all come in at the same second, obviously. I do think if the campaign added it all up then and added it then it might be on today's official total. However it is ignored for the graphing.

2,779,043.08 is the correct number for starting.

Someone said that they looked at the code of the update and they added 325,000 in offline donations. With that, the base is at:

$3,104,000

Subtract that from the home page ticker and you'll get what we've raised online today.

I would actually beg to differ. When people cannot donate through credit card, the only option they have is to do it through mail. When you mail something, you can't pin exactly when it'll show up.
