Need this question answered asap. Have some dems that want to vote for him and would like to provide them with proper information. Links to the facts about what they need to do to vote would be handy as well.

Thanks!

If you refer up to the State by State voting thread, you'll easily see all the info you desire. Alabama is an open primary, meaning you do do not need to change parties to vote for Ron Paul.

But if there's any doubt, you can always check out Alabama's Secretary of State website.

Oh ha! I always click "New Posts" I rarely visit the "____ Forum" directly so I hardly ever see any sticky posts.

You've probably found the answer but yes you have to register as a Republican, I lived there in 2007 and had to bite my tongue and do it.

Every thread we have says the exact opposite when it comes to Alabama. Do you have a link to the Secretary of State page where it says Alabama is a closed primary?

There is no party registration in Alabama. You can see that in the form to register to vote.

On the day of the primary, you can only choose one ballot to vote in, Democratic or Republican.

I'm pretty sure you don't have too. I never registered party affiliation when I voted in Alabama primaries. You just have to ask which ballot you want.
