Hi all,

There is going to be a debate in my general area in October and it appears that Ron Paul will attend.

I am seeking advice on how to leverage his visit.

As I write this, I am concurrently watching / listening to Paul's speech at Webster Hall on the Daily Paul site. I would love to get him to speak on an area campus. Any ideas on how to organize such an event?

Any suggestions on how to encourage supporters to attend the debate and show support?

Thanks for your kind replies and patience - I am new at this.

Details of the upcoming debate:

I would start by contacting the campaign. Underneath the 'Contact Us' button there is an 'Event Request.' Good luck!

Do what you can to get tickets to the debate. I was at the Ames debate in August and it was great fun. You can meet other republicans in your area, many are still undecided. If you aren't too obnoxious and you know the issues you might be able to sway people. Its good to cheer at the debate, but don't be overly rude that you are annoying people.

I was hoping to attend this as well but never felt they were on the up and up with us around here.

Welcome to Ron Paul Forums! :)

As far as getting Dr. Paul to speak at an area campus, it may be a little tough right now since I imagine his schedule is packed really tight. But hey, there's always a chance. Are you aware of Young Americans for Liberty? http://www.yaliberty.org/ YAL is a youth oriented liberty movement. If there's a local chapter in your area, that might be a good place to start. I know that YAL has hosted Dr. Paul on several university campuses.

As far as getting people to attend the debate, you might want to check with the debate organizers about the availability of tickets. If you can get some extras, you could invite others to attend with you. I'm not sure where you are exactly, but there are enough members here on RPF that if you get some extra tickets, you might even get some company from some of the people posting on these pages.

Thanks all for the good advice... I am very disappointed that RP will not apparently be coming to the area.

Well... I shall turn my attention to meeting others in the area and perhaps working on some YouTube videos to post - I have a bit of talent in that area.
