TEXMESSAGE
Tuesday, September 27
Good morning, TexMessagers. Rep. Ron Paul is in some unlikely company with his latest accolade.
TEXclusive
Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, received a nod yesterday as an “American Jobs Hero,” joining Ohio Democrat Dennis Kucinich in taking the honor from the American Jobs Alliance.
Rep. Ron Paul- named an American Jobs Hero
The group describes itself as “an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization.” It advocates for the consumption of American-made goods and services, and lobbies against legislation it sees as harmful to American job creation or growth.
Paul has long made no bones about his opposition to trade agreements, and opposed both the North American Free Trade Agreement and the World Trade Organization. That dedication won him praise from Kucinich.
“I appreciate Congressman Ron Paul’s passionate work to defend America and American jobs,” Kucinich said in a statement.
Paul’s unhesitating willingness to challenge what others consider well-entrenched political orthodoxy has made him a favorite on college campuses across America, even if it hasn’t propelled him to the top of the polls in his quest to win the GOP nomination for President.
