Ron Paul did get to point out that government and corporations were colluding to pollute the water!

Other points from the extended interview:
- drug wars: freedom of choice, war on drugs $1 trillion spent
- laws don't make people better
- putting too much trust in people/market?
- how to let people help other people?
- free market is truly compassionate
- government delivered care to corporations, drug companies, insurance
- railroads: government gave them the land
- prior restraint in media
- environment better protected with strict property rights
- government should not exempt themselves and companies to pollute

Is this the actually full version I'm not getting some of the content seems like pieces are missing or hacked up I wonder if its my ad blocker?

Yeah, after the ad plays, you should be able to skip right to 21:45 to get the full interview. But you can skip a bit if you've seen the first part of the interview that was aired. There's a 10 minute segment that wasn't aired after returning from a break. Then it continues straight into the part 2 that was aired.

the link provided is the extended interview. I saw the regular airing and it doesn't include what is shown at the link. After watching the interview, Jon Stewart is a moderate which can be applied to either party.

I thought it seemed kind of chopped up after the break.

I wonder are they going to air the rest?

the unaired stuff was worthwhile.

He should understand that the enforcement mechanism in the free market is trial lawyers.

Stewart said: Government accountable to the people vs. Corporations accountable to the shareholders.

And that's completely wrong.

Tort law - the ability of lawyers to sue the polluters is the check on the Corporation.

Rich trial lawyers, hearing that they'll be able to be free to go after misbehaving corporations, might like the sound of Ron Paul.

When I watched, it ended right as Ron started talking about comedians. I don't think that was the full interview.

Curious, what exactly Ron Paul referring to when he mentions something along the lines of "turning things over to the Pentagon, CIA, TSA"? Anything in particular he has recently highlighted that is going wrong with those? He mentioned "pentagon budgeting" a couple times in the whole interview.

Pentagon budgeting issues?

Auditors Says $6.6 Billion Missing from Pentagon Probably Stolen (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-missing-billions-20110613,0,4414060.story)

The whole big government vs small government really does boil down to one issue: do you think the people of this country are good people, or no? I think we are, and I think we deserve a chance to prove it.

It's also very difficult to find an example of a true free society in modern times to use as a reference point. It's been about a century (or more, depending on your perspective) since such a society has existed. For example, to say that some people didn't receive medical care in the 1800's because it was a free society, is to ignore the technological advances we've made over the past 100 years.

Liberty was a Grand Experiment once, and it brought us here, where up until very recently, we have been the most economically prosperous country in the world. Liberty worked once, give us a chance to prove it still does.

But that seems scarily tiny compared to what Josh highlighted :O
