V for Vendetta had nothing to with it in my opinion. It was just that the event was given enough hype and time to grow.

The connection with V for Vendetta is not that of a threat, but of a warning. By our actions today we are attempting to prevent the society portrayed in V from coming to be...

Freedom is popular!

Thats the message I donated for!

"Freedom is popular" was spoken by the Champion of the Constitution, who happens to be quite real, and also happens to be running for President of the United States. That other message is from a movie.

the fact that it had something to do with V for Vendetta I think made some impact, especially among the younger voting generation. I'm 23, and I know that I kind of feel like I'm taking part in a peaceful revolution by donating, which I am!, and it reminds me of the ending of the movie V, in which all those people are uniting anonymously yet unanimously for one cause.

if somebody arbitrarily said that our fund raiser would be november 4th or 6th, i don't think it would have as much impact.

I voted aligns well because I think it serves for a symbolic "bombing" of the institutions we've come to realize are not working for the citizens for whom they were designed.

Kinda aligns but that is not something we should want to promote; Most people are not revolutionaries.
