Obama's Overall Approval Steady at 42%

UTICA, NY--Rick Perry has tumbled by more than 20 percentage points over the past month among Republican presidential primary voters and is now second to Herman Cain, who leads the field with 28%.

Mitt Romney received little benefit from Perrys fall, garnering 17% of the vote for third place.

While Zogby's polls can't be taken literally in terms of where candidates rank with the electorate, his online opt-in polls are a reflection of trends, and this poll isn't the only indication of a surge of interest in Herman Cain on the internet. He is likely to get some sort of bounce in real polls as well, though it's extremely unlikely to be all the way to 1st place.

I think what we are seeing with Cain is similar to what we saw with Huckleberry in 2007...he was a third-tier candidate who got a big bump right after Fred Thompson (the 2007 equivalent of Rick Perry) fizzled and moved into a solid third place behind Juan McCain and Flip Romney.
