I just headed down to Monterey for a weekend trip and brought along a dozen No Tax On Tips cards (black series business cards) (http://flyers.ronpauldesigns.com/). I pretty much used up all of them at various places from restaurants, small shops, hotels.

Even for places that I didn't purchase anything but looked around, e.g., candy shop, I would drop off a card in the tips jar. (And lots of places have tips jars.)

For restaurants, I left one with the bill and sometimes one at the front and other times at the office.

Various places have waiting areas too like ice cream shops, so I would drop off a Blue Republican flyer as well. (Note: around 75% voted Obama around here.)

Best part is that these business cards are really cheap in bulk. Less than 2 cents each.

Great idea! I already write on my restaurant tickets: Vote Ron Paul-he introduced legislation for tips to be tax-free!

I have seen some pretty funny expressions on the faces of the waiters and waitresses trying to read the tickets as I leave the restaurants!

Great!! I need to get some of those; I'm on the road and am pretty much stuck with "eating out" all the time.

For those in the California Bay Area, I can give you a bunch when we meet up at various events like sign waving, tabling, etc.

I've even been leaving cards at fast food restaurants.

What kind of shops usually take tips in tips jars? Coffee, drinks, candy, snacks?

Best places I can think of are where the workers get the majority of their income from tips/gratuities. Here, think:

*waiters and waitresses

*valets (car park attendants)

*hair dressers/stylists (?) (anyone know the tip to income ratio of this job?)

and, as crazy as this may sound:

*strippers

I know that strippers/exotic dancers, in many cases, have an income that is 100% dependent upon tips. Here we go, guys - who wants to bite the bullet, take one for the team, and start hitting all the exotic dance clubs? For Ron Paul, of course. For the cause!!! :D

Don't forget with Ron Paul they will get to keep their ENTIRE paycheck!

Sounds like Las Vegas and Reno would be a great place to drop off the no-tax-on-tips cards. Plenty of services provided there. And they're in an early primary state too!

For anyone traveling to Vegas or ski trips to Tahoe.. make sure to bring plenty of these cards!

I just noticed that the cards don't have the bill number on them.

If anyone wants to pencil it in, it is H.R. 1139.

While we're on the subject, why the hell doesn't this bill have ANY cosponsors??? I would have thought this one would be a no-brainer. :(
