"The all-time record for single-day fundraising during the primary season is $2.3 million. Ron Paul has raised over $1.7 million today as of this writing. Gee, you think he'll beat it?" by Thomas Woods, PhD (http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/)

Looks like we have found the goal to beat. Let us set a new record!

I thought someone posted it was something like 5.6 million by John Kerry

I think that was after he won the democratic nomination.

The 5.6 million was raised shortly before the Democratic Convention, after the primaries were held. I guess, technically, it was raised before he was a candidate for the general election, but this would be the record for the primary season.

But just to be safe, why don't we beat Kerry's record too? ;)

Key Phrase in bold below - the Kerry record was for a fundraiser taken JUST before the actual elections.

(July 2, 2004)

Senator John Kerry collected more than $34 million in June, including $3 million raised online on Wednesday, setting a record for single-day Internet fund-raising and causing the campaign's computers to crash.

We're on pace to beat that amount.

correct.

It is VERY easy to raise that much after you win the nomination.

Sweet. I think we may beat that record then. :)

Its very possible that donations may double 2.3 million today. The media will not be able to ignore that. Especially since this movement is not affiliated with the official campaign. GO RP!
