Byron York: Republicans 'Reassessing' Perry

Appearing on Fox News, Byron York joined the growing number of conservative voices expressing doubts about Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) in the aftermath of last night’s debate, saying “I think some Republicans are going to be reassessing Rick Perry after this.”

“Perhaps Perry was losing, and I think that perception was probably strengthened now, so it’s going to be interesting to see how his fundraisers react,” York said. “Does the perception grow among Republicans, perhaps he’s nor really ready, he’s only been on the campaign trail for a few weeks while Romney has been running for five years.”

So they really are dropping him for Romney? Oh well. 2nd place for Ron in the polls can't hurt.

Rich Lowry, of National Review, on Fox:

Does Texas Governor and Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/rick-perry.htm#r_src=ramp) prepare for the debates? He clearly does, he just can't quite carry it off. His signature moment of the night came when he teed up what was supposed to be a devastating indictment of Mitt Romney's flip-flops and get lost somewhere in the middle and barely made it out the other side.

Perry said he’s in favor of making English the official language of the U.S. Perhaps he should concentrate on mastering it before the next debate.

Kristol has been ringing this Chris Christie bell forever!

There's a little too much man-love there, Bill. Reminds me of the Madden-Favre romance.

Well, I'm relieved to see the neocon crowd taking Dubya's immortal wisdom to heart:

'Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, um, ah, ya can't get fooled agin.'

I honestly think they thought Perry would run a huge distraction against Dr. Paul. It is backfiring on him. I am just glad Dr. Paul was the one to draw first blood on Perry with that third (?) debate about Gardasil. After that, the media couldn't ignore it. I have always said, their arrogance will be their undoing. I couldn't be happier over this news!

And so.... They're off paiting Mitt as the lesser evil (he says it best with how many reasons there are not to elect him), and the pursuit of the magic lamb continues - Chris Christie may be committing suicide after-all... While Marco Rubio will be playing lamprey, once he finds an establishment candidate to latch onto...

In fact, that may be the next for the neocons - they'll be looking for vp's, as the splendid panic continues.

Rick Perry is really a doofus. All he had to do was be up there and keep his mouth shut and wave to the crowd.

Exactly the way we should see it. We. Are. Third. As of now. And in specific states, we poll second or first. Perry is falling for sure, and does anybody really think Romney can spar with Paul once he's in a locked 2nd (presuming Palin doesn't drop in)? The guy has so many lies, flip-flops, bad votes and legislation to his name, I wouldn't be sure which one to attack him on first because they're all so delectable.

When Mitt was 2nd, he was electable... ;)

Hear ye hear ye... All Ron Paul doubters... Please behold, Ron Paul, "The Electable"

I think Kristol wouldn't have written this column if he didn't think Christie entering the race was already pretty much a done deal.

My prediction:

Perry will fall out. Ron will move into a strong second behind Mittens.

The media will declare. "ROMNEY THE CLEAR NOMINEE. All other candidates are way behind although a new challenger is poised to announce soon...."
