View Full Version : How effective are ads?

I'm glad to see RP putting out these great ads, but how effective are ads generally? I just don't see a minute long ad converting someone from say Perry to Paul. Maybe I'm just not easy to convince, and others may be persuaded easily.

I'm sure ads help name recognition, but right now everyone pretty much knows who he is.

Anyone more well versed in campaign politics than I am want to weigh in?

most voters are apathetic and vote based only a sliver of information.

If ads weren't effective at building and promoting brands, no one would buy them and ad agencies wouldn't be a huge industry.

As I've said before, very few voters are driven by logos arguments. The forum is disproportionately represented by the logos driven voter. The vast majority of voters are pathos driven. I'm quite happy to see the new ad really targeting that angle. Ron needs to soften his image for women voters.

The ads also get media attention.
