Tangent, can you provide a few details?

How are we supposed to "adopt" a meetup group, and what does this entail? I'm kinda confused here. (Yeah, I know - nothing new, ha!)

Do you know if that Des Moines meetup ever took off again? I remember sending out emails a while back..

Meetups go away when the Meetup organizer's subscription runs out and they don't pay to extend it. You can join a meetup and step up as the new organizer by paying for it. Also note that you get 3 Meetups for the price of 1, so if you already have a meetup, you can save 2 others and it won't cost you anything additional.

Generally, it's the larger Meetups that are worth saving any you would want to give a local a chance to adopt it or the organizer a chance to renew before stepping in. If one interests you, best to join and check out what's going on with it.
