Billy Oreilly is a moron!Tony Benett is a hero and he knows exactly what hes talking about.First of all, he is not a pascifist. There is a difference with someone who doesn't believe in fighting illegitimate wars for corporations and someone who would advocate the defense of their loved ones if there was an imminent invasion of our own country.

When I first heard that statement by O reilly I was reminded of a quote that Michael Savage said when talking about a joke Jon Stewart told, and it captures how I felt when O reilly said we never bombed anybody before 9/11. Here's the Savage Quote:
"Now not only is this idiotic, and illogical, it's not funny, it's the product of inbreeding."
Now he used it in a different context, but the words fully captured how I felt when O Reilly said that. So in O Reilly's mind we weren't:

Bombing Iraq throughout the 90's.

Sanctioning Iraq causing 500,000 children to die, that Madeline Albright said was worth it.

We weren't bombing Sudan

We weren't bombing Somalia

We weren't bombing Afghanistan

We weren't bombing Bosnia

We weren't bombing Kosovo

We weren't supporting the Israelis over the Palestinians

Nope in O Reilly's history book, we had our nose in the air, and staring in the clouds before 9/11.

Rothbardian Girl

Does he mean historically (read: in American civics-textbook-history) we haven't bombed anybody? If he does, he's stupid, because I just don't see how someone forgets about the atomic bombings and umm.... basically all of WWII. I guess people of his ilk think there's a gap somewhere between WWII and 9/11. The US has been involved in so many conflicts in the 20th century, it would be ridiculous to try and count them all. O'Really is stupid.

You owe Mr. Bennett an apology. Is this also why you are unable to understand when Ron Paul explains foreign policy to you?

Wake up. You are doing “the folks” a huge disservice by being a stubborn, ignorant propagandist. Our military men and women who are fighting and dying overseas deserve to at least have the truth spoken on American television.

Oh, and those military men and women overwhelmingly endorse Ron Paul as their next Commander in Chief:

Think about that the next time you consider disrespecting Dr. Paul or Mr. Bennett.

The truth will set you free.

Here is Bennett's apology on his Facebook page for the comments he made on The Howard Stern Show:
"I am so grateful to be an American and as a World War II veteran, I was proud to fight to protect our values, which have made America the greatest country on the planet.
There is simply no excuse for terrorism and the murder of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims of the 9/11 attacks on our country. [Bennett is correct: Why 9/11 happened, i.e., blowback,* is not an excuse that 9/11 should have happened.]
My life experiences — ranging from the Battle of the Bulge to marching with Martin Luther King — made me a life-long humanist and pacifist, and reinforced my belief that violence begets violence and that war is the lowest form of human behavior.
I am sorry if my statements suggested anything other than an expression of my love for my country, my hope for humanity and my desire for peace throughout the world."
There is nothing in the above statement in which he takes back his view that 9/11 was blowback for the actions of the U.S. government.

Iraq shelter bombed by US remains frozen in time

BAGHDAD, (AFP) - A bleak civilian bomb shelter where hundreds of Iraqis were killed by US missiles 20 years ago remains frozen in time, occasionally visited by relatives of victims who come to pray. The February 13, 1991 bombing of the Al-Amriyah bunker in western Baghdad during the first Gulf War killed 403 men, women and children. It hit world headlines and was trumpeted by Saddam Hussein as a symbol of US "barbarity".

The first smart bomb tore through the 2.5-metre (8-foot) thick roof, and a second followed with deadly force, transforming the shelter below into a fatal furnace. A deep cavity in the floor, charred walls and thick pieces of mangled metal mark the force of that historic blast.

"But didn't the Americans have satellites to know that it was a civilian shelter?" Hussein Nasser, who lost his mother and five siblings in the bunker, asked incredulously. "They knew very well who was inside, but they wanted to strike hard to overwhelm the Iraqi regime," said the 46-year-old, adding that he was raising his three children to hate "the crimes of America".

The Bush administration and British government have repeatedly blamed France's threatened veto for the failure to secure a second UN resolution authorising military action against Iraq.
What Washington has failed to mention is its own veto over many years to block initiatives such as opposition to apartheid South Africa, and even the prohibition of chemical weapons. Below is a partial list of UN resolutions vetoed by the US since 1972.

1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon condemned. Shooting of 11 Muslims at a shrine in Jerusalem by an Israeli soldier condemned.

Israel must withdraw from the Golan Heights. Apartheid condemned. Setting up of a world charter for ecological protection.

Prohibition of chemical and bacteriological weapons.

The Cycle of Revenge

Bin Laden then reveals the extraordinary fact that the idea for 9/11 originated in his visual memory of the 1982 Israeli bombardments of West Beirut’s high-rise apartment blocks. He recalls his intense reaction to seeing images of the destroyed towers there and formed the following notion: “It occurred to me to punish the oppressor in kind by destroying towers in America.” (“Missile into towers,” he might have whispered; the idea stuck.) The Sept. 11 attacks, which most of us remember as a series of visual images, repeatedly televised and published, originate with an earlier series of images. For Bin Laden, there was a strange kind of visual justice in 9/11, the retributive paying back of an image for an image, an eye for an eye.

Opposites attract — the awful violence of 9/11 is justified by Al Qaeda as an act of revenge that in turn justifies the violence of America’s and Bush’s revenge. My point is that revenge is an inevitably destructive motive for action. When we act out of revenge, revenge is what we will receive in return. The wheel of violence and counterviolence spins without end and leads inevitably to destruction

This is exactly what Bin Laden hoped to bring about. He admits that Al Qaeda spent $500,000 on the 9/11 attacks, while estimating that the United States lost, at the lowest estimate, $500 billion in the event and the aftermath. He even does the math, “That makes a million American dollars for every Al Qaeda dollar, by the grace of God Almighty.” He concludes, ominously, “This shows the success of our plan to bleed America to the point of bankruptcy, with God’s will.”

Like it or not (I don’t like it at all), Bin Laden had a point. The last 10 years of unending war on terror has also led, at least partly, to the utter financial precariousness that we see at every level of life in the United States: federal, state, city and individuals laden with debt. We are bankrupt.

The hits just keep on coming.

- Proposes limiting debates to two people. Should be restricted to %15 polling therefore only allowing Perry and Romney.
- Rants against tax increase on him however keeps pushing a VAT tax on his show that will hurt the middle class and poor. Bill O'Reilly's plan will cost the average family thousands a year in taxes.
- Now tonight he blames the American blacks high unemployment rate due to lack of a college degree. Of course the recession has nothing to do with it.

On one hand I should not watch his show since it pisses me off however considering it is the highest rated news show in all of cable it gives an indication of what the establishment is going to force upon us. I therefore believe people need to be vocal in calling him out while not appearing as a Liberal or Democrat. This guy yields too much power since people continue to be fooled into believing he is a Conservative.

Gulf War: bombing of Amiriyah shelter
http://sundaytimes.lk/110220/Timestwo/t2_24.html
These people Bomb, Kill and Destroy for decades in Government and climb positions and promotions for inciting war

This evil wacko sociopath Charles E. Allen continued decades of destruction and oppression. After all the bombings

Charles E. Allen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_E._Allen), the CIA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Intelligence_Agency)'s National Intelligence Officer for Warning supported the selection of bomb targets during the first Gulf War. He coordinated intelligence with Colonel John Warden, who headed the Air Force's planning cell known as "Checkmate." On 10 February 1991 Allen presented his estimate to Col. Warden that Public Shelter Number 25 in the southwestern Baghdad suburb of Amiriyah had become an alternative command post and showed no sign of being used as a civilian bomb shelter. However, Human Rights Watch noted in 1991, "It is now well established, through interviews with neighborhood residents, that the Ameriyya structure was plainly marked as a public shelter and was used throughout the air war by large numbers of civilians."

Satellite photos and electronic intercepts indicating this alternative use were regarded as circumstantial and unconvincing to Brigadier General Buster Glosson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buster_Glosson), who had primary responsibility for targeting. Glosson's comment was that the assessment wasn't "worth a shit." A human source in Iraq, who had previously proven accurate warned the CIA that Iraqi intelligence had begun operating from the shelter. On 11 February, Shelter Number 25 was added to the Air Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Air_Force)'s attack plan.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7e/Allen_2005.jpg
Mark Perry offers this commentary about Allen based on information from colleagues:

"An eccentric workaholic who often picked fights with superiors"
"More than just a little weird; it was hard to know just where he was coming from."
"At times during his career Allen seemed almost out of control as he often spent all night at his office and made unreasonable demands on his secretarial staff."
"Allen was known for his offbeat views, and his detractors said he had a huge ego."

Director of Central Intelligence William Webster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_E._Allen#cite_note-8) formally reprimanded Allen for failing to fully comply with the DCI

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_E._Allen

One high-level intelligence official on the National Intelligence Council (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Intelligence_Council) (NIC), charged with advising the DCI, was more forward leaning than the analytic judgments published in the NID. The National Intelligence Officer (NIO) for Warning, Charles Allen on July 25 ,1998 issued a 'warning of war' memorandum in which he stressed that Iraq had nearly achieved the capability to launch a corps-sized operation of sufficient mass to occupy much of Kuwait. The memo judged that the chances of a military operation of some sort at better than 60 percent."
