Republicans in TEXAS where Perry is the head of the party, and it is open primary so you aren't penalized for not being in Perry's party, don't like us. But no one likes Perry, either.

I still haven't figured out why there is so much support for Perry from the people. Maybe this early in the race, people are just voting with name recognition and whatever soundbytes they heard or read about.

I think the campaign should try to court hispanic voters in Texas; either run a couple of ads on the spanish speaking networks, or take a trip to Puerto Rico and give some speeches (Ron could use a vacation too). I know forum goer's will be lining up to beat me up over this post, but hispanics want the American dream too. They want a responsible government, they are a very large and growing demographic and Texas is an open, proportional, early primary; so it would translate to votes in the primary. In an open and proportional primary, you can't turn your back on anyone.

Remember a year ago, Obama took a quick trip to PR and hispanics by and large felt that he actually cared about their interest. Of course Obama's a fraud, but that doesn't detract from it being a good campaign move. Ron Paul actually does care about preserving the American Dream and that will display well with folks.
