My name is Tom and I live in Prattville.

Is there anything real going on?

I am looking into and considering becoming a delagate if I can convince myself its worth a shot.

I just got off the phone today with the Alabama Republican HQ and Clayton told me only one person has so far sent in the paperwork to become a Ron Paul delagate for Alabama.

I checked the list of current approved delagates and there are 16 so far and they are all Perry and Romney.

Hello and welcome to the forums! I'm not from Alabama, so I'm not sure the process there, but becoming a delegate is a very important step in the election process if you are supporting Ron Paul. The Phone from Home program is critical at this stage as well, so I'm very encouraged to see your involvement!

Did you have any specific questions about the forums or Ron Paul that we can help with? Have you checked Facebook or Meetup for Alabama groups to get in touch with?

Hi Tom, welcome to the forums!

That's great that you're taking the initiative to become a delegate and it's also sad that no other Ron Paul supporter in Alabama has signed up yet while 16 Perry/Romney supporters have.

These state sub forums are not frequented often. You should check out these Meetup groups and hopefully you can get the word out to them about the 16-1 lead right now that Perry/Romney have over Ron Paul in delegates.

Also, are you signing up as a Congressional District delegate or an At-Large delegate? We need to keep track so that we don't run multiple candidates in the same Congressional District.

Hi Tom, welcome to the forums!

Also, are you signing up as a Congressional District delegate or an At-Large delegate? We need to keep track so that we don't run multiple candidates in the same Congressional District.

That is the main reason I just found this forum.

I figured that there would be a group organizing so we don't wind up signing up for the same slots.

I had looked for meetup groups before finding this forum and sadly its slim pickings and worse few and far between.

Last time arround I see things got to hoping, but this time Alabama seems more, or less dead in the water at the moment.

The other thing is I am a transplant from Tampa, Florida. I really don't know people in Alabama.

I have come to the discouraging conclusion that Alabama is heavily weighted towards a bible belt mentality which is going to
tilt in favor of Perry unfortunately. In fact Perry has way more delegates than Romney of those 16 I mentioned.

How do you get people to understand that Ron Paul is probably the most spiritually inclined (Christian) running for President, but due to his integrity he will not inject it into his politics to manipulate people to vote for him which most of us know Perry the hypocrit is doing?

There is an Alabama FaceBook group and probably a Meetup.com group too.

I joined the Alabama meetup, but its not much.

Nothing in Montgomery area yet and were the state capital.

Only thing going on is in Birmingham and not too many there yet either.
