I just got an email from them talking about how great it would be if the PAC hit a target of $100,000...

What does that mean in terms of airing the 'Plastic Man' ad like they wanted to do?

How much air time is that in one, two or three states?

Hopefully my idea of how much it costs to air an ad on TV is just distorted.

Well, I didn't intend this thread to be a criticism of the PAC. However, like you obviously feel, I'm a little concerned that the media will use this to overshadow the actual campaign's $1,000,000 weekend fundraiser. :(

Anyhoo, like I said above, I'd like to know how much actual advertising the SuperPAC can realistically do with $100,000 in hand.

It does not seem to me like that would do much...unless they are going to only focus on small concentrated areas. I tried to run ads for my business 3 years ago on Comcast and it was just too expensive so I didn't.

Didnt the rev pack claim that they would make history?

Maybe history for the smallest day of fundraising ever hor a super pac...

A six-figure ad buy would go farther than you'd think in a small market like Iowa or New Hampshire. You'd probably have to contact the local stations for the specific rates.

The media will not use this. Its not even an official Ron Paul campaign moneybomb. Its a seperate SuperPAC.

100k is a decent amount of money to run some ads in some key areas.

For a first moneybomb two days after the official campaign one, I think its pretty good. JMO...

I imagine they could do quite a lot in Iowa, NH, ect. If the campaign raised only $100,000, it wouldn't go very far, due to other expenses. I'm not sure about the behind-the-scenes setup with the RevPAC, but I can't see them having all the extra expenses that the campaign has (chartered flights, ad companies, other travel, salaries, ect).

I believe they are also going to make a push to hire some high-quality fundraising personnel.

The timing wasn't exactly the best imo. I also think we thought a lot more large donors would contribute. Maybe they are giving RevPac a check. This is just funds transferred online... So who knows.

Take a look at the infomercial thread:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?316499-Ron-Paul-quot-infomercial-quot

For ~$80K you can get 7 clusters, that's 65 ads per cluster for a total of 455 spots on 77 different stations nationwide for a :30 spot. That's on 2 satellite systems and one national cable network.

quite a lot, actually.
