I agree. There were 18,000-something people signed up for the fundraiser, and undoubtedly many more who didn't sign up but planned on donating. But I bet there are 10,000 or more on the campaign's e-mail lists who weren't even aware of the Nov 5th event. A simple e-mail from the campaign could bring a lot more potential donors to this event, and turn it into even more of a feeding frenzy than it already is. :)

Yes exactly, every time an email goes out even if its about what Ron Paul had for lunch the other day the donations go up

They might not want to send one out until tomorrow as a summary of today's events. If you send out too many emails in a short period of time they 1)become less productive 2)start getting ignored 3)make RP look a bit desperate (not the best word choice) 4)people start to unsubscribe.

Not saying they should not send out an email today, but there are positives and negatives with doing so.

I'm guessing they'll send one out tonight or tomorrow saying how pleased they are with the results. Jesse and Don are going to recap the results tomorrow on justin tv. Does anyone know where Congressman Paul is today? Is he in D.C.?

Its better to leave those people untapped. Then tomorrow and further days, he can tap them and have continued success. That way we won't look stalled out in the next few days.

Send the campaign email NOW, not tomorrow. I could be wrong, but I heard Obama had the biggest one day donation this year at $4mm. If so, we should shoot to beat that and the campaign email should give a goal so others can donate again while motivating those who have not donated (I'm tapped at the max).

that 4 million was from Oprah giving him a fund raiser.

His highest grass roots raise was 1.8 million in 3 days...and he had to send 3 emails asking for more cash

Still, Obama raised $4mm in one day. The MSM CAN'T ignore RP and can't deny RP is top-tier if we beat that!

Also looks like we will, or have, surpassed any single day grassroots effort.

My take, make this as BIG as possible. Even if people tap out at the $2,300 max, the publicity will bring in more new supporters/donors. That how it works in the long run. Publicity brings in fresh blood.

Imagine how many more people would donate if they got a heartfelt letter from Ron today. We would SHATTER Kerry's record!

We need to make this happen!

He's probably sitting in front of his laptop staring at the donation screen and going like this:

If we look at the flip side, however, if RP does NOT send out an e-mail, then it is much easier to advertise this as 100% grassroots effort.. he can brag "we didn't even do anything" That in itself is worth news coverage $$.

So what we need to do is see it for what it is - WIN/WIN. If he sends out an e-mail, we get more cash. If he doesn't get get the equivalent in MSM taglines about grassroots :-)

What record did Kerry have? World's Most Boring Man? RP wouldn't win that one.

I'm with rrcamp in that if he does not send an email out, then it can all be attributed to grassroots.
