This is great. And doubly so because it works to change the conversation away from LetHimDie and bashing of non-interventionism, and serves to show that Paul IS electable!

How much $$ free advertising do you think this headline is worth? Tens of thousands of dollars at a minimum, I would think. Money well spent on that straw poll win. Great Job Everyone! Let's keep it going!

If pandering causes pondering Paul I'm pro-pandering.

Here is the FOX coverage, pleased they at least covered the story.

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul won a California GOP straw poll Saturday night, The Sacramento Bee reported.

The Texas congressman picked up just under 45 percent of the 833 ballots cast at the state party convention in downtown Los Angeles.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, considered the clear frontrunner in the nomination battle, came in second with 29 percent of the vote.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was a distant third with nine percent of the votes cast, while Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann came in fourth with 7.7 percent.

No other candidate polled more than two percent of the vote.

The straw poll was not a prize that most campaigns were organizing for, according to Politico, in light of the state's traditional Democrat support.

Fox are praising Perry and running down Mitt in that story. It is clear who is paying Fox the most $$$$$$$$$$.

And the caveat....

The straw poll was not a prize that most campaigns were organizing for, according to Politico, in light of the state's traditional Democrat support.

Am I biased or does it seem like the only straw polls that don't matter are the ones Ron Paul wins?

They all decided to pretend they don't care about straw polls because they know we're certain to win the ones we really want to win. Like Ames, NH Young Republicans and CA. 2nd in GA. Etc.

Since they want to ignore politically active Americans, they should skip the primaries and caucuses, too!

Fox is all-in for Perry. Fox has become a 24/7 campaign arm for Perry.

The straw poll matters as much as those who get to hear about it.

Drudge has been slowly building the Ron Paul story. It's been interesting to watch. It must draw him a ton of hits.

Yeah right, at least they covered it....what a joke! Look what they said at the bottom of the story....

"The straw poll was not a prize that most campaigns were organizing for, according to Politico, in light of the state's traditional Democrat support."

Well, if Perry would have won, then the neo-con and liberal media would have covered this story for what it was worth, what a joke.
I'm still waiting for the neo-con and liberal media to talk about who won, but nothing as of 8am..... My vote will be for Ron Paul even if he is pushed out of the race. Nov.2012 Ron Paul has my vote.

Agreed. Straw poll wins result in earned media for a full 24 hour news cycle, and then can be referred back to for the rest of the campaign. Also becomes fodder for powerful youtubes and helps fight the unelectable/media blackout.

What does that have to do with the republican primary? Even if it leans democrat, California represents a large portion of the republican primary vote required to win the republican nomination, does it not?
