According to KCBS and Bay City News Service, two bystanders were hit by gunfire after an officer-involved shooting in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood early this morning.

According to police, at 2:06 a.m., officers located a wanted person in the 400 block of Broadway. The suspect ran away from police and produced a weapon, they said.

Officers then fired at the suspect, who was not hit. However, two bystanders were hit by the gunfire. They were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

The suspect, who was not wounded, was taken into custody. The suspect’s weapon was recovered, police said.

Police did not have information available about how many officers were involved in the shooting or how many rounds were fired.

That's talent right there.
:(

I am actually surprised this does not happen a lot more often.
People that can't shoot for shit, blasting away on city streets. I would expect a lot more collateral damage.

If anyone's out at 2am, they're guilty of something. These 'innocent bystanders' had it coming.

And oh, how little coverage they get for it. Sort of like people who can't drive doing a hundred per so they can catch and write a ticket on someone who can drive, has a superior vehicle, and was only doing eighty. How much of this carnage do we not hear about..?

the cops mustve been TERRIFIED that their lives were in danger because the suspect was running AWAY from them.

When are they just going to start using their cars and run people down like Carmageddon? Do they get points for taking out innocent bystanders now?

THings are starting to look bad for that 5% that are upstanding. Eventually they will be judged by the company they keep.

Broke one of the cardinal rules of shooting: be sure of your target and what is beyond it. Unless the officers were under fire and could not grab some good cover, they shouldn't have fired. But, what do you expect from donut grazers.

see cardinal rule in post above yours

there are reasons for these rules and we see the consequences when they are not followed

much like the constitution and current situation America finds itself in

Oh, I definitely get that. The cops are more of a danger to the public than the alleged criminal was. But we know that already....
