I'd say we're currently safe for 1.5 million by the end of the day.

Linearly, yes. However, if we reach 300K in the next hour we'll be on track for quite a bit more. My reasoning is timing. By 0500 MST, or 0800 EST, we should see the donations spike again.

I doubt 5,000 of the 18,000 or 19,000 people who signed up at thisnovember5th.com are awake right now. Not to mention I, like many supporters, will be rallying the office, emailing and calling the family, and getting in touch with old friends tomorrow. Everyone wants to be part of something huge. It's not often that being part of something so huge and so right coincides.

EDIT: I just realized that I may have missed the point of the OP. Did you mean 5mil total Q4 donations or 5mil for the day. I took it that you meant 5mil for Q4 and I thought that was too conservative an estimate.

It's possible that some ISPs spam filters might kick in about now. A large quantity of emails to a single ISP from a single sending domain might trip a rule and block email. This depends entirely on the ISP, but it's possible.
