I'm sucked in.

Cavuto: I can't see you supporting a Ron Paul. ... You wouldn't support a nominee like that would you?

Cheney: Um there are nominees um that I'm not enthusiastic about. They haven't gotten the nomination. They're not likely to get the nomination.

Cavuto: So you're ruling Ron Paul out?

Cheney: I'm ruling out the opportunity, here today, to indicate who I support.

Oh Cheney was slick. Cavuto pressed him if he thinks Ron Paul has no chance and if he would support him if he did win the party nomination. Cheney hinted that Ron Paul isn't likely do get the nomination but he refused to go further on this, saying that he would be less enthusiastic about some nominees over others but did not rule out supporting anyone as the party nominee.

That seems silly. Establishment hags would support the party nominee whoever it is. That's just how they work. Another question is would they ALLOW Ron Paul to be the nominee.

No attack. None. Neil Cavuto set him up for it, alluding to Ron Paul's foreign policy, and Cheney refused to take the bait.

SOME establishment Republicans would endorse the nominee even if it was Paul. However, I would venture to guess quite a lot of the hardcore neocons would NOT support the nominee if it was Paul. They might even run a third party, which would be entertaining.

A third party such as Clinton, whom Cheney has already sort of supported.

Karsten

Or they might just return to their neocon roots and support the Democratic nominee (Obama).

If they do. It would spell the end of the republican party.

Dick knows he'd draw votes to RP (or he's a closet Paul fan for RP's stance on getting government out of the marriage business - Dick's daughter is an alt-lifestyler)

I don't see how that would've helped us. We need another Republican insulting Dr. Paul? Cheney clearly didn't want to speak about any of the candidates, so Cavuto should've just dropped it.

Yup. It would lend instant credibility to Ron Paul in the eyes of many independents and democrats. It was actually a well played move by Cheney.

I've heard a lot of people say if Ron Paul becomes popular in the mainstream media, they'd stop supporting him... Makes no sense, is it hard to believe, that his message and our wash rinse repeat explanation of his policies, might actually be catching on?

My father a wealthy businessman, who maxed out on Romney in 2008, thought the Islamic radicals were going to come to our country, and cut off our heads, so it was better to fight them over there, instead, of letting them bring the war here... 3 years of pounding and educating my parents who were both Romney supporters, and very inflexible, have now decided Paul makes the most sense... Neither can listen to most talk radio, mom sports a Ron Paul bumper Sticker, and mom also has a Ron Paul sign in front of her 3 story house across from the elks club, which she's a member. The son became the teacher, and the parents became the student, strangest role reversal in my 42 years. But I never got angry, and used logic to win the battles, and in the end it paid off..

Is Cheney going to change his mind and agree with Ron Paul? He already concurred what Ron Paul's been saying, before Ron Paul was a Republican Presidential Candidate. Does that make Cheney a good man, I highly doubt it, but he's a Republican party man to the end.

C'mon Cheney, it's insulting that you won't rule out voting for paul. We both know he's the only principled, pro liberty person in the race. He doesn't even want to drop bombs on afghanistan, let alone iraq, libya, syria, pakistan, somalia, or iran. The only honest thing is to acknowledge that he's anathema to everything you've ever stood for, and you'd rather support the devil himself ... sorry, I mean God himself.

Ron will be President. Cheney hopes not but... Cheney knows which way his bread is buttered and knows about all the investigations going on right now. He is probably aware the Constitutional Cowboys are backing a golden Presidency. It is already on the currency, just like 911 was on the 1991 series of bills.

If he backed him and is on that front then he is in a very confusing situation. I imagine it would be an awkward pretzel/moebius strip position.

It will be whatever we decide it should be and we must not become the thing that we detest now...

Character matters.

It matters how we treat the 'minority'.

Do unto others comes to mind here.
