You'll never see troop reductions or DoD cuts if this is true. Secondly, this is a transparent attempt to hijack the loyalty of the military. This is a brilliant strategy if true. Cut the rank and file military members into the circle of graft so they remain loyal to the state.

So if another war starts with the military unionize, can the solders vote not to go to war and force other groups to do the fighting?

Highly unlikely to happen. Look at your history. The AFL-CIO couldn't pull it off at the zenith of their power, they have orders of magnitude lower chance now.

Add to that, needing the votes to change Federal law:

10 USC 49: § 976. Membership in military unions, organizing of military unions, and recognition of military unions prohibited (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/10/usc_sec_10_00000976----000-.html)

Not that it hasn't been studied to death.

That site is pretty alarmist. I've seen several articles there that turned out to be BS.

How would that even work?

Officer: Alright platoon, we have to take this machine gun emplacement out. We don't have support and other men are counting on us!

Soldiers: Charging machine guns without support isn't in our union contract, sorry bub!

No way this happens. Does that mean the UCMJ is not longer needed? I dont see how this could work at all.

Of course. SHTFPLAN is the name of the site so by it's very nature it will be alarmist. Pretty one side info from those types of places.

Its an Obama dream , they are counting the union dues now :) . Right in line with the proposed mandatory pension tax they will have to pay and ( wink , wink ) , will get the money back when they are eligible for social security ..

Likelihoods aside, may I point out that this is NOT the '70s?

They also did not have PATRIOT, militarized police, no knocks, wars on EVERYTHING including civilians as they do now.

Times have changed. Human perfidy has not.
