Posted in facebook too a sec ago,
It ain't perfect, but it might invoke some ideas. I'm also participating in the November 11th fund-raiser, so any haterz can put their money where their mouths are and donate on that day with me too.

This is how I've promoted the 5th of November. Myspace / emails and all, only with myspace I used html embeds etc:

___

"Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, The Gunpowder Treason and Plot, I know of no reason Why Gunpowder Treason Should ever be forgot."

1605 - Gunpowder Plot: A plot led by Robert Catesby to blow up the English Houses of Parliament is thwarted when Sir Thomas Knyvet, a justice of the peace, finds Guy Fawkes in a cellar below the Parliament building. Celebrated: New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom and the province of Newfoundland & Labrador (Canada): Guy Fawkes night (also called Bonfire night; or Fireworks night): Failure of the Gunpowder Plot to blow up Parliament in 1605 is celebrated with bonfires and fireworks.

1688 - Glorious Revolution begins: William of Orange lands at Brixham. The Revolution is closely tied in with the events of the War of the Grand Alliance on mainland Europe, and may be seen as the last successful invasion of England.[4] It can be argued that James's overthrow began modern English parliamentary democracy: never again would the monarch hold absolute power, and the Bill of Rights became one of the most important documents in the political history of Britain.

1757 - Seven Years' War: Frederick the Great defeated the allied armies of France and the Holy Roman Empire in the Battle of Rossbach. Frederick the Great had accidentally discovered operational maneuvers, and about 3,500 horsemen had defeated an entire Army of two combined European superpowers.

1780 - French-American force under Colonel LaBalme is defeated by Miami Chief Little Turtle. He led his followers in several victories over the United States in the 1790s, but was an advocate for peace with the U.S. in the years leading up to the War of 1812.

1831 - Nat Turner, American slave leader, is tried, convicted, and sentenced to death. American slave whose slave rebellion in Southampton County, Virginia, was the most remarkable instance of black resistance to enslavement in the antebellum southern United States.

1872 - Women's suffrage: In defiance of the law, suffragist Susan B. Anthony votes for the first time, and is later fined $100.

1940 - Franklin Delano Roosevelt elected to third term as President of The United States of America.
