"Frontrunner" Rick Perry's in town to speak at the Pioneer Institute's Better Government Awards Dinner. Let's give him a Ron Paul-style welcome!

Since the mainstream media has labeled Gov. Perry a favorite, there my be some media coverage of this event (even if it's just local news). We plan to show up and wave signs for our favorite candidate. I suggest we bring Ron Paul signs and refrain from making this a protest with anti-Perry signs, but I'll leave that decision to you. As a reminder, we should stay polite and professional at all times, regardless of how Perry treated Ron at the Sept 7 debate [see pic].

Feel free to bring/make your own signs. We'll have signs for you if you don't have any, just be sure to bring your self.

The dinner starts at 6 so let's be there at 5 to meet Perry and his cronies. You're welcome to stick around until the dinner guests are exiting but it'll likely be too dark by then. Most of us will stay til 6 or 6:15.

I would argue that this type of action might be best if you aren't flying the Ron Paul flag. But just a hating Rick Perry flag.

You have people wearing Merck shirts shaking Rick Perrys hand, or Rick Perry looking extrememly distressed when he doesn't shake someones hand who is wearing a merck tshirt.

Some Ron Paul supporters will make sure they bring their cameras. Take a picture of Rick Perry signing The Merck Manual of Childrens Health with a Gardasil pen. Or refusing to sign the Merck Manual of childrens health with a Gardasil pen.

And much like the Pittsburgh Steelers had "terrible towels" and the Minnesota Twins had "homer hankys" that they'd hold over their heads and wave, Perry's signature could be the $6.24 Merck golf towel.

Shemdogg, you definitely seem like a grassroots leader in NH, not only here on rpf, but also with the meetups. If you think these are materials that would be useful frequently to you and your group in MA and NH, putting these in your hands might be the way to go.

i would have preferred to make it an anti-perry rally, and intend to do so at his NH appearances

this came on such short notice; i just only found out last night

i figured it'd be better to get people out with ron paul stuff than nothing

agreed, the merk shirts and al gore masks are materials we should have for his next appearance

Just remember to be respectful, the media is always looking for a story and it's not when Ron Paul's supporter are acting their best.

I wish I was there.... I believe it would be a great time.

BTW - This was linked from facebook, it's how I found this one...awesome.

Or you could NOT ruin RP's reputation and just go protest Perry as individuals tired of liberal faux republicans and ones that force inoculations.

If it's announced that Ron Paul people are to show up. And no one shows up with Ron Paul colors. And a bunch of fun stuff happens.

How exactly would they be able to blame Ron Paul?

So, if Shemdogg has a plan, even if the plan is to be nice, and not wave Ron Paul signs, could that be implemented?

I personally would buy a 100 mini sharpies.

Shemdogg, and the others who might know the most people can explain the plan. There will be many Perry events in NH. Ron Paul has the numbers of supporters.
I would not be surprised if there was a Perry event where Perry supporters were outnumbered by Ron Paul supporters. Which would be loads of fun.

Plan:
1) Get everyone to take off their Ron Paul gear.
2) Get rid of anything Ron Paul like signs.
3) Stop talking about Ron Paul.
4) Get a Sharpie magic marker from Shemdogg.
5) Get a Perry sign from the Perry minions.
6) Everyone gets 2 signs.
7) Duct tape is useful.
8) These words should be written on the Perry signs - Gardasil, Merck, Bilderberg - and the artists can draw a big syringe.
9) you have 2 signs, sandwiched together, clean side out, until everyone is ready, and then you reveal all the artwork.
10) Pay close attention to the TV.
11) You want to position yourself between the cameras and Perry.
12) If you can get behind Perry, that's exactly what you want.
13) If any of the TV is going live, that's when you want the marked up signs to be in the line between the camera and Perry - or in the shot behind Perry.
14) Talk to the tv guys when they're setting up, or before the event, try to determine who will be going live.
15) you could use cell phones to help in determining when someone is live, or about to go live.
16) you also can bring in signs, get Perry signs, bring em out to your signs, and sandwich your signs within Perry signs.

I've done this. It's fun. Maybe there should be prizes. You're going to want a lot of photos and videos of all of this. When you out number the Perrys, you really
can do anything you want. The people who are organizing everything will likely be seen organizing, and if a bunch of really fun things happen, the Perrys will remember the organizer, and the organizer might not be able to do that again right away. You'll want some photos and videos of someone with a Merck tshirt on, and a bunch of Perry stickers on the tshirt. And Perry in the frame. That's an easy one to get. Zip Hoodies over tshirts.

I wouldn't expect much from this one in terms of fun. But you can see what that particular Perry event looks like. And I personally don't like the idea of waving Ron Paul signs at a Perry rally. But something like that can move you forward. The understanding is there that the Perry event is where you want to be.

If you're going to do this don't wave a Ron Paul banner. Doing this kind of shit didn't work in 2008. The supporters that did stuff like this were reported as nut jobs. Don't give the media an excuse to do a hit piece on Ron Paul. Not to mention it's not really an effective way to win voters over by antagonizing them.

I still think it'd be more effective to go to the nearest college and pass out flyers. It seems a little antagonistic as koji said.

Maybe we do need bands that say "What Would Ron Paul Do?". :D

To complete the picture they need to be sure to chase him down the street and throw snowballs.

Come on folks... give this just a whits more thought and see it for the damage it could do... please do something more productive... or, do nothing at all... especially this... is it a way bad idea.

Yeah.

If the idea is to win over voters for Ron Paul, it doesn't seem like a banner idea to crash a Perry event where he is speaking to people who came to listen to him. That is only going to make the people there have a bad taste in their mouth about Ron Paul. Remember the blowback in the last election when people did this?

So, please if you do this, don't go there with Ron Paul anything. Wear Merck shirts or whatever. But, leave any and all things relating to Ron Paul at home. Including the stickers on your car, if you plan on causing a scene. Please do not let them be able to associate you with Ron Paul.

Practice F.U.D. (fear, uncertainty, and doubt).

Go to a Perry event handing out and/or holding signs with truthful hit information on Perry. Make people fear, be uncertain, and doubt Perry. They will eventually come around to Paul.
