The "golden mean," was a method of looking at politics originally created by Arisotle which devised a spectrum model dividing viewpoints into conservative and liberal positions and was an attempt by him to pull the Greeks from their usual extreme positions towards a more moderate middle position. In other words, the Greeks didn't really know what they were doing politically and why the process they were using wasn't working. So, Aristotle tried explaining the problem and presenting a solution meaning the Golden Mean wasn't devised to be a definition, but a solution to a political problem. Today's lazy media uses this political spectrum irresponsibly in the United States which, in terms of being primitive, is at least two steps away from how Aristotle intended the original "Golden Mean" to work. Philosopher professors just shake their heads at this nonsense. In other words, the rational always ends up serving the irrational. There is nothing rational about partisan politics. To understand government in a bipartisan way is an uphill procress meaning it takes a lot of thought, work, and determination.
