Candidate A is "a well-known critic of government, this man has been involved in tax protest movements, and has openly advocated secession, armed rebellion against the existing national government, and even the overthrow of that government. He is a known member of a militia group that as involved in a shoot-out with law enforcement authorities. He opposes gun control efforts of the present national government, as well as restrictions on open immigration into this country. He is a businessman who has earned his fortune from such businesses as alcohol, tobacco, retailing, and smuggling."

Candidate B is "a decorated army war veteran, this man is an avowed nonsmoker and dedicated public health advocate. His public health interests include the fostering of medical research and his dedication to eliminating cancer. He opposes the use of animals in conducting such research. He has supported restrictions on the use of asbestos, pesticides, and radiation, and favors government-determined occupational health and safety standards, as well as the promotion of such foods as whole-grain bread and soybeans. He is an advocate of government gun-control measures. An ardent opponent of tobacco, he has supported increased restrictions on both the use of and advertising for tobacco products. Such advertising restrictions include: not allowing tobacco use to be portrayed as harmless or a sign of masculinity; not allowing such advertising to be directed to women; not drawing attention to the low nicotine content of tobacco products; and, limitations as to where such advertisements may be made. This man is a champion of environmental and conservationist programs, and believes in the importance of sending troops into foreign countries in order to maintain order therein."

Voted.

but I had already read the article and the other thread.

Well done.

I wonder how the questions could be edited to be leveled even more, to really make the choice more shocking.

Say like dropping the alcohol and tobacco merchant, smuggling part and just making them traders, bankers or merchants.

Or perhaps you inject a little truth into it by saying "B" was kicked out of the military and spent time in jail. Or perhaps that he used the criminal element to do his bidding which convinced other politicians to support him. I wonder what the results of the poll would have been then. Of course if the poll had mentioned the fact that the candidate "A" was against unfair taxation and was for individual freedom from onerous regulations that also might have changed the results. My point is that through the use of creative and glib writing anyone can be made to look bad or good depending what outcome you are aiming for. Whenever someone defines the box and puts you into it they also control the outcome.

Yes, to a certain extent.

What doesn't change, sadly, is that fact that most people in the US right now support policies that are similar to or exactly the same as the National Socialist regime.

I'll also add that these people deserve what is coming to them.

Rick Perry is evil (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?308368)

I know that everybody says "you have to be involved with GOP politics" to help.

I can't be part of this...I just can't, especially since I used to be.

It's as bad a forcing a 10 year sober AA man into the bar.

I'm almost starting to hope that Paul runs third party as a punishment to the Republicans. But, that would probably ruin whatever chance Rand has in the future.
