A jealous liberal wrote this and wants Ron Paul supporters to start supporting Obama so that we can all be "equal." The article is a joke.

College papers are often ran by Democratic leaning people.

Shouldn't this go in the "bad media reporting" section?

Ive seen reports that students at many schools are being paid to be shills for other candidates, especially Romney. Im sure many of them see who their classmates are supporting and want to drag RP down. Just my thought.

EDIT: I do agree there is a liberal lean to that article with all the "inequality" talk.

well this one is in Huck country.

I think they are traditionally run by liberals who are set in a philosophy - the average person doesn't say I want to write for my school newspaper about politics, it's someone whose had beliefs for a long, long time.

I took the time to reply with a comment to this article, and I see that several of you did as well.

I am VERY impressed with the way most of you replied, and I think there's a lesson there.

When you don't like the message that someone is giving you, don't attack the messenger. If you yell and curse at them, they will get defensive.

Think of it as a chance to convert someone. Respond with Mr. Paul's message, thoughtfully.

I have a feeling the person that wrote this article was well-intentioned. In fact, she seems to be a caring person who is making an attempt to do the right thing.

Wouldn't it be great if someone could really sit down with her and share Ron Paul's message, get her converted, and potentially get her to write an article about Dr. Paul?

Maybe I'm just dreaming, but I really was impressed with the way most of you responded to her.

It's been my experience that ALL Academia lives in a vacuum where philosophy reigns over practicality. The vast majority of academics wante everyone to get food education, shelter, etc. Socialism in its various forms is wonderful in theory to achieve those goals. Profs live in a sheltered vacuum and deal solely with theory. Thus, they're almost all Dem's.

Ihere's an old saying "If you can, do. If you can't, teach."

Not deriding the teaching profession at all, I used to be a part of it. That's just my take on college. Democratic leaners.

I see a pattern here. Everyone thinks Paul supporters are a bunch of liberals who are anti-war and pro-drugs, and dont really know what Paul is all about.

That one dude set Tucker straight. We really are a bunch of nerds who get hot off all this fiscal stuff.

I remember reading editorials in my college newspaper 10 years ago, and thinking they were completely moronic. I guess things haven't change. Like the fall of Rome, so does the Stars and Stripes, with our last chance of savior the great doctor.

This is why I am going "all in" this November 5th.

I think it actually has a lot to do with a love of state power. Socialist-leaning people love the state and think the state can do great things if you just give it a little more power...

Now, the people who work in academia have two reasons to love state power. The first is how you said, Socialism is theorized to help people but it doesn't take in the real world effects, nor does it consider the morality of the redistribution of wealth, aka theft.

The second reason is these people's livelihoods depend on the state. If they don't support with state power, they are not acting in their best interests. People will always act in terms of incentives and the incentive for a university employee to support the state is the chance to eat.

The students at the universities are typically fresh out of the 12-year brainwashing camp (aka public schools) and are very much primed to receive the new form of brainwashing that seems like it's anti-"everything they've learned in the last 12 years", but in reality, it's still pro-state, just from another point of view. That is, fascist public school education vs. Marxist university education.

So overall, the university students on the whole are indoctrinated and confused. They need a big dose of the red pill, or you'll find them on dailykos at 35-40 years old.

My thoughts exactly.

Win hearts with class, respect and charm, the way Ron Paul does when he gets broadsided.
